I have a Sainsburys £10 gift card and my cunning plan was to purchase an Amazon gift card with it from Sainsburys. However, the only Amazon gift cards they have in-store state 'MP3 downloads' on the front, but on the back have the general Ts & Cs. I've contacted Customer Service by chat, and the person there said he 'imagined' it was only for MP3 downloads and without the claim code, he wouldn't know. I've searched these threads and googled the query but I dont know whether I could use it for any Amazon item or if it's product-specific. And before any body gets all stroppy with me saying 'if it says MP3, then that's what it's for', I find it difficult to believe Amazon would limit what you could buy on their GCs. Anybody know for sure?

To insert a product link use the format: [[ASIN:ASIN product-title]] (What's this?)

5. We'll keep the remaining balance in your Amazon account for use on future purchases of MP3s and millions of other items at Amazon.co.uk. You don't need to enter the claim code again when you place your next order.

Found it in http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/feature.html?ie=UTF8&docId=1000375983

I would imagine that an amazon gift card is an amazon gift card. You enter the code and you get the account credit, since you'd still be buying the mp3s or whatever directly from Amazon.co.uk.

That was my feeling, too, Miss Ord. However, I'm a little wary of putting it to the test as I wouldn't use Amazon for music downloads - I use iTunes. Thanks for the link, anyway, and the advice.

gail, all Amazon gift cards can be used anywhere in the store. The MP3 bit is just the design on the card.

Really, Suze?? Oh well, that's that sorted then, thanks very much for that! I'll go and buy one tomorrow. Goodnight now.
