Hi there! 1st ever post!

I received my Kindle3 a week ago as a post-xmas prezzie to myself(!) and so far I love it!!

I love receiving "real" books as gifts, is there any way that people can buy me ebooks from amazon.co.uk so I can download them to my Kindle?

Cheers?

Thanks for the reply. Bummer, though.

They can always give you e.book gift vouchers instead.

They can buy you gift certificates, though, which can be used to buy e-books.

Instead of my usual pile of books this Christmas, my partner gave me an Amazon Gift Voucher...he was't sure and thought it might feel a bit impersonal but far from it, I was like a kid in a sweet shop :D

Everyone!

Thanks for the replies. re: vouchers - I actually love the idea of vouchers. I know they tie you in to one store, but I find them "nicer" than just receiving money.

Right then I'm off to tell everyone I know I want amazon vouchers!

You should, a well-meaning relative gave me Waterstone's vouchers for Christmas, what a pain, ended up buying books for other people as presents for later, as I couldn't bring myself to buy an actual paper book for myself, and will then spend the money I saved on Kindle books for me.

can you buy kindle books for other people not on your account?

Denis Powell says:
Sep, no you can't, but you can email them a Gift Card for the value with the details of the book you would like them to buy with it.
