My K4 has a lovely London scene, which was greatly reduced in price. Now I must seek something out for my new Touch. Thank you, David, for getting me in skin-choosing mood!

LOL. Thank you Smudgeroonie. I am a self confessed colour junkie and get great pleasure from personalising gadgets like the Kindle. ;o)

Dave.

David thank you for the link - I loved seeing the photos, and love your new skin! (Maybe that could have been phrased better, but you know what I mean.......)

wow that's rude.

Fair point, Dave, I wasn't aware of that. On other forums I visit there are often hundreds of members' pictures.

Surprisingly few people post their own photos Willber. When the KK3G was all the rage I kept a watch on that gallery. After all this time, there are still only 33 customer photos, a third of which are mine ;o) ...

Willber G says:
It was just a suggestion, that Dave seemed happy to take on board, and I explained my reasoning. And your first post indicates that you missed one of the images.

It appears that you are the one being critical (I'll ignore the hyperbole).

Fi esta says:
But as at the moment, this is not the case, do you ever feel that it would be nice not to be so hyper-critical?

Willber G says:
As I said above, the number of pictures will grow. It will be a lot more difficult when there are maybe hundreds of them.

I found 2 x pictures (out of 18 listed) of a kindle in a fire skin following the link, so what was I looking at then?

In reply to an earlier post on 6 May 2012 15:43:50 BDT
Willber G says:
Thanks Dave! ;-)
(In my defence, I'm sure the number of photos will grow...)

Permalinks added for those too lazy to scroll along the list of customer photos :o)

Unfortunately that is the link to the general images page. You need to use the "Permalink" link below the the photo to get the addresses to your pictures.

(Right-click on "Permalink", choose "Copy link location")

That's pretty cool, thanks for posting.

I finally got around to applying the matte Decalgirl skin 'Flower of Fire' to my Kindle Touch 'Katy'.

Just like to let everyone know, they have come & they look fab. Can't wait to put mine on & my dad will have to wait until his birthday. I got them from Gelaskins & would recommend them, even sent an email to say they have a 15% off sale until Sunday. I'll try & put a link on with photos later.

I have bought Decalgirl skins through Amazon for my Kindles. I reallu like the way they make my Kindle look but the matt skins work better than the glossy ones.
I did get a custom skin for my mobile phone which came out really well.
I don't remember which company made mine, but Gelaskins, which is also sold through Amazon seems to make custom skins.

My London scene skin has just arrived. like it better on the back of my Kindle than on the front - makes the front a bit busy somehow, and detracts from the monochrome screensavers, which I LOVE. But it adds to the scratch protection of the Kindle overall, and it can barely be seen once it's in its leather cover (which begs the question did I really need it, I know, but I really WANTED it...)

If you search kindle skin on you tube there are a few videos on how to apply them & you will get a better idea of what they are. I have just had an email to say that UPS have printed the delivery label so hopefully won't have long to wait. I will try & post some pictures of them on the kindles.

I've done it - ordered the London one, which is in the Spring Sale down to 4.

Yeah looking at the prices it seems anti much for a sticker going to look bait more because I still want one lol

I thought it would show me how it was done, but maybe I am not clever enough to work out how! Anyway, my daughter says she can do something along those lines for me if I wish, so 'm thinking about what I'd really like. Putting 'Kindle 4 skin' into Amazon's search box brings up a big selection of ready-made designs. My favourites are (1) a heavily-laden bookshelf, but it's a bit twee - somehow overly sentimental, and (2) a London sky-line wi5th Big Ben central, which I think I prefer, and is a lot cheaper.
