I know what you mean about Christmas cards. We send far too many as it is in our house. The only personalised ones I buy are for my husband and my sister now.

According to Wikipedia, Age Concern started Grandparents' Day in Britain back in 1990, but there is not a lot of interest in it. I do object to cards for too many different occasions - why should I buy cards for New Year and Easter, and I don't want to have to buy individual Christmas cards for everyone (Happy Christmas from your daughter, sister, wife, etc)!

I've never minded Mothers or Fathers Day, but I object to New Year and Easter cards. Didn't somebody once try to start Grandparents day as well.

Was in supermarket yesterday. the usual crowds of dads and kids looking at the cards. I noticed a couple of cards on display, fair enough there were some for Grandma, and even stepmum, but "Happy Mothers day from the BUMP "was going a tad too far!

Sorry about your dad, Mrs T. I have to admit, I've found today to be dreadful, and the sooner it's over with, the better for me.

We don't do mothers/fathers day, just think its a load of tosh. I get treated the same all year round so one day makes no difference. Feel well chuffed if we can manage a whole day with no arguments [son/hubby] so thats my present :-). Gave MY mum gift & card though as thats expected. Its just made me miss my Dad more as he passed 4 months ago, dread to think what fathers day will be like.

My eight year old went shopping and bought my presents this year all by herself! (OK, I stood outside the shop...) She is so pleased with herself and I am so proud of her!

I didn't get breakfast in bed because she decided to go sleep over at my parents' house last night. Oh, well - you can't have everything...

Happy Mother's Day. I'll be cooking my Mum dinner today. I have a lot to live up to. I'm not the best chef in the world and she's a qualified chef!

Wish me luck.

Have a fab day and cherish the most important lady in your life... without her, you wouldn't be here! ;-)

I agree Steven, but if I remember rightly, they down voted your posts when you announced your engagement to DaisyDuck. Some people are just very rude, but unfortunately they don't think they are.
