my daughter bought me a kindle hdx two days ago , I got it today then noticed the price had been dropped by 30 pounds, im disappointed because she would have got me a larger screen for the same price of a smaller one. it would have been nice to be advised that there was going to be a price drop. disappointed

You can return your Kindle to Amazon no questions asked (for up to 30 days technically) - so why not return it and buy the bigger one?

I don't think I'd be "disappointed" with a company that let you give something back and then buy a replacement just to save a few quid.

(For information, any books or apps you have already purchased are registered on you ACCOUNT, not your device, so when the new one comes they will be available to you.

Still disappointed? CW

(btw - Argos just reduced the 16Gb HD to £99 - I wonder how many people bought theirs for Christmas at £139 and are cursing now? Life really is a roller coaster. They too could return them, then find out there are no stock left so end up with no present for little Timmy. Pays your money and takes your choice as the saying goes.)

It's a bit selfish to state that your daughter could have bought you something better, IMO. This is your family, but nooo, you wanted something bigger, something better!

Why should ANY retailer tell you when they are going to drop prices? Think about it; how would they ever make any profit?

I can imagine it now; you place you order but no, wait, you've a message. It says "Don't order it now, if you wait another three weeks you'll get £30 off!"

Really, do you actually expect any retailer to do that?

hi clagg, im very grateful to my daughter for buying me the kindle. I just meant that she had 2oo to spend and if she had waited she would have had the option of a bigger screen for the same money. I have never wanted or had something for nothing. I am not a selfish person. my kindle is just right for my handbag and I find it just as good as my ipad
