Can anyone tell me how to remove books from the Kindle Fire HD? My son has just received his and when he plugged it in in my absence to charge it, it has downloaded all my books onto his device. Some of them are inappropriate for a 9-year old... Any help appreciated!

Sarah O says:
From the Device tab in your Books content library, press and hold the title of the book you want to delete.
Tap Remove from Device.

Setting Parental Controls

Parental Controls allow you to individually restrict access to one or more of the following on your Kindle Fire by requiring a password for access:

Web browsing
The Email, Contacts, and Calendars apps
The ability to purchase from the Amazon Store or Amazon Shop app
Specific content types (For example, Books or Apps)
Wireless connectivity

To set a Parental Control password and select items to restrict:

Swipe down from the top of the screen and tap More.
Tap Parental Controls, and then tap On.
Enter a password, confirm, and then select Finish.
Once you've set a password, you can choose specific items to restrict.

Thank you Miss Ord, I too was having a problem working out how to delete books. Think I have managed to work out everything else and I'm loving my new toy.

Copy + paste directly from the Help pages for the Fire HD, you might want to check them out. Spending 30 minutes skimming through can really help you get a handle on using the shiny new toy, they're very confusing if you're not used to gadgets :)
