Observer says:
I'm always on the look out for new bands, ones that aren't so main stream. Pavement being my fave band of all time.
Any suggestions???

Cheers

Hi Observer, I think you may need to list more of your music likes before anyone can recommend any new bands to you. As you like Pavement, I'm sure you're familiar with Pixies but what about Baddies? Check out the reviews for their "Do the job" album as it kicks ass without been metal. One of the best English albums from last year, regards TheFoe.

As Pavement is your favourite band I guess you already heard the Silver Jews albums with Malkmus and Nast on them. If not, check out "Starlite Walker" and "American Water". And try out Spider Bags "Goodbye Cruel world, hello crueler world". A very good album. "Long white desert rose" is a kick-ass song, and on the 7 minute monsterjam "Trouble" they got a bridge that sounds as if it was borrowed from the pavesters.

The Sound must be the most criminally overlooked band in history.Buy their "From the lions mouth",it's one of the best albums of the last 50yrs.
Check out Bivouac-kinda late 90s grunge, but much better!

Archers of Loaf, any fan of Pavement would love their first two albums - Icky Mettle & Vee vee. Muscular indie rock of the highest order. I think they're still cheap to get 2nd hand too - Bonus!
