Theres a japanese horror flick called The Machine Girl.
Dont know if you have seen it, ....youtube has a trailer.
Very gory, in a comedy gore style, but the film is very very entertaining.
Not creepy, and not really creepy children if you are talking about a village of the damned style movie.
Thought i'd mention it though.

Children of the Corn springs to mind but everyone knows about that one, if you don't mind subtitles Who Can Kill a Child is a good spanish horror and again you probably know this one already but Battle Royale has some good demented kids Kiriyama in particular and then there's the endless supply of japanese ghost children (The Ring, The Grudge, Dark Water etc).

Becky.horror says:
yes the japanese and Koreans do like their scary children dont they?!

I thought of Whisper and Who Can Kill a Child? is also very good.
Children of the Damned still freaks me out but Damien is probably the ultimate evil child.
666: Child although not very good.
Daddys Girl - British
Battle Royale is one of the best, shows how ruthless kid can be.
Of course i have to mention the hoodies in Them and the stalkers in The Strangers.
Machine Girl is worth a look as well.
Havent seen The Children yet but will probably buy it when it comes out.

Generally children scare me anyway. Have you seen the way they stare at you when your shopping or out somewhere? Its freaky. Bit like dolls, puppets and clowns; they all terrify me as well.

If you are looking for "nasty" there was "The Bad Seed" quite an old film now but what a horror!

Are kids these days really that scary? I've worked with some very damaged, unhappy young people and once you get to know them - and show them respect (and expect it back) - they are often lovely, loyal and helpful. Smile at a strange child, apologise to a kid when you get things wrong, hold a door open for them occasionally. They'll probably fall over from shock because most of them think all adults hate and fear them ...

But if you really want a good book about creepy children (old fashioned style innocent-looking children gone nasty) what about John Wyndham's Midwych Cuckoos (not sure if that's correct spelling of Midwhatsit)?

I agree with becky.horror, children are creepy enough in real life, let alone films!

Mario Bava's "Kill, Baby Kill!" is a superb & very creepy chiller featuring a murderous ghost girl. I can highly recommend all his work.

I have seen "The Children" and it gave me the creeps to be honest. Tantrum throwing brats go bonkers after becoming "ill", but if you really want to see creepy kids, hoodies and all then check out "Eden lake".... its almost like those kids you see out on the streets today...... well bleedin scary.

hi judy, ive seen 'the children' and i thought it was a very effective little shocker. the children used for the film did a great job. they were creepy and horrible! furthermore, what does anyone reckon to those twins used for 'the shining'? i thought they were the most gruesome looking twosome ive ever seen! complimented jack nicholson a treat though!
