Yeah it does Arch, though not entirely realistic it is still quite gory, a bit similar to the scene in Carpenter's The thing when Palmer metamorphs into the thing and kills several other characters:)

Yeah that's correct Kevin they have like a weird sighing, swelling, warping sound to them don't they, whilst of course oozing snot! Maybe they were full of a cold, :D......... I think the idea being that they had elements of the Cycloptic alien super fiend's hypnotic powers.. I know it's fairly badly done but doesn't The Cyclops swallow McCulloch's astronaut colleague. Slurp him down, kinda like some Lichean, mind~bending carnivorous plant?
The effects are pretty poor by today's standards, but when considering the budget and time scales, attempting of course to maximise it's 'Alien' cash in potential, they probably did a decent job. Those Italians were pretty efficient and Corridori, I'm sure no slouch.
Of course Alien is a far superior creature design and film, but Contamination is not without certain imaginative and creative monster merits, when all said and done..

Arch stanton

In relation to Xtro, They also used a near 7 foot male model to portray the xenomorph in Alien aswell as using HR giger's creature design.

On Contamination, didn't the pods make an anoying sound aswell as looking not to dissimilar to the ones in Alien?

You know Post Soviet I haven't seen Possession in absolutely ages! Must be a decade at least... and I definitely recommend El Baron Del Terror (AKA: Brainiac), it's black and white and errr... Mexican, and insanely crumby, but don't let that put you off, coz if you can forgive it it's lunacy, boy is it nasty! The actual creature concept design, for all it's ineptness, is truly, truly horrible and is well worth a look see.

Kev, that's very cool, I never knew that. Whoever they got to do it did the job, giving us a very memorable (if only to me :D) beastie. I like that movie a lot. Flawed but It's got some lovely imagination.

The crab like alien in Xtro was a contortionist who walked upside down to give that weird creepy look of the creature.

Errr... I'm gonna throw a few in here and see what sticks, they're probably not the nastiest but certainly memorable.
Xtro ~ The hideous crab~alien~monster that rapes the woman at the beginning, forcing her to give birth to a fully grown man!?!
Possession ~ That weird tentacled thingy.
Long Weekend ~ That repulsive corpse of the manatee that inexplicably keeps getting closer.
El Baron Del Terror ~ The brain guzzler of the title.
Contamination ~ The cyclops, with a car headlight for an eye! Okay, I'm actually only voting for this coz no one else will! :D

My favourites in order:
The Creeper from Jeepers Creepers
The Predator from Predator
The Leprechaun from Leprechaun
The Thing from The Thing
The Alien from Alien

There isn't a third Jeepers Creepers yet, but it's supposed to come out this year. I personally think it will be a million times better than part 2 but not as good as the original.

The beautiful Linda Blair from the EXORCIST, I finally got to meet her last year, and embarrassed myself by asking her to marry me in front of my wife, then kissed Linda on the back of her recoiling head as I was being removed by security. DOH!

Adam you're right about the Xenomorph creature. Very scary and evil (although i prefer Aliens to Alien)
The Thing (from the JC movie) Just down right nasty.

Adam Jackson says:
Alien - the xenomorph itself particularly in the first film. Almost demonic, lovecraftian!
Somehow not quite the same when multiplied (and diluted) for the sequels

My first suggestion would be "The Creeper" from Jeepers Creepers. Brilliant monster. A good example of making a modern horror movie. Like a "bat out of hell" Who came first, the movie or Meatloaf ?
Oh yes, p.s, I have not seen film 3, is there one ? is it any good ?
