My Ted was downloaded in HD and mine was a blu ray code too.

The Paranorman iTunes digital copy also downloads in HD, so it looks as though Universal will be offering HD digital copies as standard with their newly released Blu rays from now on:)

You can, but not all files actually come with them because the distributer didn't include them in the file they sent Apple. It's really stupid. It's less of an issue on newer releases, in-fact I can't recall a newer release that doesn't have them (some TV shows are hit and miss), but there's still a large number of older ones that don't (and by older I mean stuff put on the service before 2011, which is pretty pathetic this day and age. Some of it has them, and they've added it retroactively too on some at the same time they added iTunes Extra content too like they did for WALL-E for example).

Prometheus came with HD, as did Source Code.

I *think* you can arrange sub-titling in your iTunes settings. Somehow I managed to turn mine on for most films.

I completely agree with you. My wife is Polish and while she's completely fluent sometimes accents get the better of her and we have to put subtitles on. The Jaws digital copy has subtitles - yet another odd inconsistency!

I just got E.T. and the redemption code for the digital copy on iTunes is indeed an HD copy. One thing that appears to be missing though are the subtitles (a family member is deaf, so they're pretty much a must have for anything they wish to watch) which is a little bit of a frustration. It's simple enough to find them, but it should come with it. The page for it also says it has them included so maybe it's because it was a redeemed copy rather than an actual purchase? Though I'm not sure how there'd be any distinction or why they'd remove them from it. Seems rather odd. I wish Apple would get on top of suppliers giving them subtitles for things, it seems rather hit and miss with a lot of stuff although it has been better as of late with newer releases.

Ah! That explains the mixed information then. Bugger! Got to love how we get screwed in the UK on these kind of things lol.

Yep, I have the UK releases of both and the UV copy is SD.

Apparently the US Jaws Blu-ray comes with an HD digital copy but in the UK we get SD. Annoying!

I've seen others mention that E.T. gives you an HD version. I've also read that Jaws does too, but the copy I got just gave me the SD version when I redeemed it.

Maybe it's a different batch of codes or something?

It'd be nice if the packaging mentioned which version you'd get on redemption, even if it's in the small print and not overly obvious in the main body copy.

I've today received Jaws and E.T on Blu-ray. The Jaws digital copy is downloading in SD, but E.T is HD. Both are Universal releases - some consistency would be nice!

I watched it three nights ago and it was definitely in SD. I double checked and its definitely in SD. Wish it was HD.

Thanks. I wonder why yours downloaded in SD but mine was HD? Strange.

Hi all. I was really surprised to find that the iTunes digital copy code that came with my Ted Blu-ray downloaded in HD rather than SD. This is the first Blu-ray I've bought where is this is the case - all the other digital copies I have were in standard definition - and it's great news. Are there are other Blu-rays that come with HD digital copies? Thanks.
