Okay, maybe I'm a bit sad but when I have a few bob in my Paypal account I have started to upgrade the best of my dvd collection to blu ray. I never bid more than the Amazon price including postage but I am constantly outbid by people going way over the price they could pay here. They do say there's one born every minute.

Yeah, I've noticed that anomaly as well.

There are, however, DVD bargains to be had.

You have to remember that Ebay has an addictive factor as well. Surely we've all done it? Lead an auction all week only for a guy to outbid you with 30 secs left, you throw in bids in a speedy panic, next min you paid £10 more than you wanted to.

I can safely say that I've never done that. Used eBay to sell something once - think they buyer paid twice what I did. Mental.

it's remarkable. the used ones nearly always sell for more than you can get them new on either here, play or zavvi.

also, people on ebay seem to be allergic to buying from america. lots of times i've seen region 1 dvd's from the US going for 3 times more on ebay than they cost on here (including postage) from the likes of moviemars, allyourmusic etc.

I have often seen items ie Blu Ray 's for a bargain buy it now price only to discover that they are charging a ridiculous amount for postage up to £25.00 sometimes !

eBay has long since ceased to be a place to find bargains. Many blu rays are only available as BIN at stupid prices. Not sure if these traders are chancers or just stupid but I haven't bought from eBay for ages.

i've only recently started using ebay and it is mental. some people are absolute mugs paying way over the odds, however, you have to look at it from a selling point of view too. if people are stupid enough to pay these prices then let them. if you're selling something, you obviously want the best price available. yes, it is annoying, especially when you're trying to get a bargain, and you have someone bid stupidly high and you have to let it go, but, at the same time you can still pick up the odd bargain here and there, and it is so much sweeter when you do.

think it's case of people who not used to shopping on line. or anywhere else for that matter.
will think ebay will be a sure thing. for whatever they are looking for. "buy it now" is a done deal. log off.
lots of forum sites out there where " the hot deals" are posted every day. that how you get up to speed with on line shopping.

your not the only one pj, i get out bidded by people all the time to and i use the same method as you, ill look on a compare site to see how much a blu ray or a game is and then ill go back to ebay and bid either the same price or lower.

The thing that gets me is people bid like 7-10 days left on a auction or sometimes they will put in a bid & then another one 20secs later, i understand if they are not going to be around at the time the auction ends, but the funny thing is they come back towards the very end only to bid again

Always bid at the very end, that's how ebay should work, or you get a C**t like me that places bids only to make that person who ever put that automated bid in early pay more. lol.

Zavvi have some really top bargains. they may not be as cheap as here or play on most things, but they usually have a few really good deals that beat everybody else. this week theyve got pirates of the caribbean 1-4 blu ray set, and lion king trilogy blu ray for 14.99 each. both of those are over £20 on here and play.
