Headphones for a guy who doesn't like headphones

Hello! I live in a flat, and some of the music I love demands to be played louder than good-neighbourliness would allow - so I want to buy a decent pair of headphones. However, I've never really liked the music-inside-your-head effect. Is there a type, or model, of 'phones that makes the music sound more like it's in the room than between my ears? Budget up to £100, and please don't limit yourself to current models, as I'm happy to dig up an old set on eBay. Thanks, Kenneth

GRADO SR80i HEADPHONES

I like these a lot, the bass and treble both sound realistic. If you decide on these and they ship with the flat pads that cover the speaker units, best get a pair of these:

Grado Spare Pads for SR225i/325i/RS1i/RS2i (L Cushion)

They leave the speaker units exposed and they give a more natural and open sound.

If there's a hifi shop near you, try the SR60s too - a bit cheaper and still pretty good.
