Garmin Nuvi 1440 Satellite Navigation System with 5 Inch Screen and European Maps

I am attempting to plan a route from Dorset to Jersey (CH I). I know there is a ferry from Weymouth but the SatNav sends me vis Dover and through France, then by ferry. Any ideas on how to overcome this?

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately the SatNav fails to recognise either Weymouth Docks or Weymouth Ferry Port, when entered.

I located the ferry terminal on Google Earth then fed the co-ordinates to the Nuvi as a 'favorite'. Worked fine for Santander!

Weymouth is closed to car traffic to the Channel Islands for the forseable future dur to problems with the quay, you will have to use Poole
