Just writing to pop the post up the list a bit, and to let people know I still need a few more stories.

I would really like to submit a short story, but I'm not sure you'd be willing to accept it, owing to the fact that I'm only sixteen. Would it be possible?
Thanks,
Molly

Age is not an issue at all. If it works well with the other stories already chosen and it is well written, then I will be happy to include it.

Just send it to ianpaulyn att btinternet dott com (written like this to stop spammers)

Please tell us what genre you are most interested in. The 3 stories I have sent so far have been of the fantasy or humorous variety. I can also do romance or children's fantasy. Please be more specific.

I still need a varied selection. This is definitely going to be an adult volume. I am hoping to get around 30 or so contributors to choose from - I'm about half way through.

Hi Ian, did you receive my submission? If you like it I can maybe knock out another one in the next few days. Regards, Roy

In reply to an earlier post on 9 Jan 2011 09:49:38 GMT
I did - thank-you very much. I definitely sent an e-mail confirmation, so maybe I have been thrown into your junk filter. I wish to showcase different authors, as opposed to the stories themselves. For this reason, I will only be putting one (two if they are quite short) submissions per contributor.

Thank-you to all who have submitted so far. Some of the short stories, although well written, are not long enough for this project. I know that I mentioned the word count was open, but I really only want around 10 stories and need a rough minimum of 75,000 words for the volume. The shortest story I could consider would have to be around 4,000 words. Apologies for not mentioning this before.

Is there a deadline for submissions?

In reply to an earlier post on 11 Jan 2011 14:34:51 GMT
Not a strict deadline, as it is reliant on having the right material. I would like to publish before the end of March though, if possible.

Hi there Ian

I have sent a short story - hopefully it will be of interest. UI have many more, various subjects.

I write a series of short stories about a Southern church woman who is a retired school teacher. Her name is Mildred Budge and a recent collection of her adventures was released in the U.S. and in the U.K. on Kindle as Miss Budge In Love. I would be glad to send a story starring Mildred Budge, if you think your potential readers might find a connection to a woman who lives what appears to be a quiet life but is, actually, rich in adventures.

Hi, are you still accepting stories? I am trying hard to finish a submission for you, but let me know if you still want them.

In reply to an earlier post on 29 Jan 2011 09:18:14 GMT
You must have read my mind as I was just about to update this post. I still need about four or five stories and look forward to reading yours.

Elaine Shuel says:
Ian, I'm Canadian so how would you pay me if you included one of my erotic stories? Also, would it have to be a story that isn't already published? Please advise. I've written many short stories.

After writing this, I decided to send you 4 of my short stories. Let me know what you think.

Sorry, but I think that your titles might be slightly too adult for this project. I would have paid via paypal though. It does not matter if it has been published by the author before, as long as the copyright allows it to be in this volume.

Elaine Shuel says:
Too adult??? I don't get what you mean. You had said adult stories were allowed and my stories are erotic. I hope this isn't the discrimination against erotica authors that I was warned about.

In reply to an earlier post on 30 Jan 2011 10:43:24 GMT
Sorry - I hadn't received your e-mail when I replied to your post. I saw your title, 'My wife's a gangbang addict' and decided that, although possibly well written, may offend some people. Apologies for being prude - I am happy to submit stories with adult language in them, but do not think that an entire erotic story will be appropriate for this volume. It may be that I do an erotic volume at a later date. Many thanks for your time.

Elaine Shuel says:
Ian, I assume you are familiar with the expression, don't judge a book by its cover. The same could be said about assuming the amount of sexual content in a book.

How I Became A Phone Sex Operator - My True Story is my real life story and like everyone else, I've had some sex but my life hasn't been one great big erotic adventure.

Have just emailed you a story for consideration - hope it isn't too late and you find it suitable. I have a collection on sale here for the Kindle - Oblivious (due out in paperback next month hopefully as well) - and a story that didn't make the cut for that but have since rewritten and is now better than it was I think. Would like to be in your anthology as a way to promote what I have out there already...

Hello -- I think anthologies are a great way to find authors new to you, and whose work you might really enjoy. I almost always find a new (to me) author in every anthology, and happily go off looking for more. I'm close to putting a collection of my own short stories out there via CreateSpace and Kindle, so I heartily encourage other writers in such an endeavor. I've had five novels commercially published, but that's still no guarantee of success, believe me! I do editing, etc., and have a blog about writing: http:bookmechanic.wordpress.com/ Perhaps you'll feel like looking in - the more the merrier, I always say. I'm now working on another novel, as well, but I've only just started it. Good luck to everyone who tries! And remember -- nothing happens until somebody writes something! So -- keep writing. Cheers, Kelly (By the way, for any of you with a Kindle, I have two free short stories available: Song of the Swan -and- Unexpected Comfort.)

I too am seeking short stories for a new edition of Kids We Were that is also on Kindle Kids We Were. These stories need to be true childhood memories (or as near as possible) as I intend to make this book into a true historic account of normal childhood in the 20th century.
