Nope - *I* mentioned this book as a favourite a while back, and you said it went straight to your wish list.

The book Mr. D. Falzon looks for here just *must* be the 62, unless there are two very similar books. As it was me who suggested it here, I've witness your encounter to this Cortazar's book at least for a second time.

Now, that's an explanation for the history of explanations...

I knew I had the Cortazar on a wish list, but don't remember mentioning it. Or is it a reference to Lost Weekend & drink taken/bumping into the shelf it's on, like placing a cookbook with hash recipes high on a shelf, dealing with where to put a book about playing 21 later, and so on?

Monica - seems you keep bumping into this book...

It was something already on my list, and that was there, so must be. Good shout!

Thanks Monica. All the better stuff is gone now, that I bought or downloaded. The title is 62: a model kit by Julio Cortazar.

For once I didn't much mind hanging about waiting for a workman to call because I passed the time running through your terrific wish list. Some wonderful books there, as well as some I'd never got round to checking into, some that went onto my own wish list, and many I'd never heard of. Thanks. (You know of the Book Depository, don't you? I noticed a rip-off merchant here is asking £45 for The Lost Weekend, whereas it's around £6 or £7 at Bk Dep.)

Sorry I don't know book in OP, but now I'd like to know the title as well . . . .

I'm trying to find this book but I can't mind the author or the title. It's set in this unnamed, imagined or half remembered city. Two men are in love with the same woman and they chase after her down steps and through alleyways, but the city keeps shifting. I thought it was Italo Calvino but none of the plots match.
