R Morgan says:
Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel series is a nice in-between, or you might like Bernard Cornwell's Warlord Trilogy, an Arthurian retelling with a twist.

LEP says:
I haven't read either author, so it's difficult to be specific with books. However, have you looked on 'like' books?
If you go onto abercrombie or canavan and click on a book you like, scroll half way down the page and you should see a horizontal listing of books. Some of which will be by whichever author you have clicked on, but there will be others. See if anything takes your fancy.

Other than that, have you read Robin Hobb's books.

You could try Richard Morgans The Steel Remains, for me it had that same contemporary feel as Joe Abercrombie's work.
