I see that you have a book out with the author of this book, so you're on at least passing acquaintance with him/her.

I'm a bit surprised no-one's recommended Tigana, by Guy Gavriel Kay.

I found it very enjoyable, even though there's a pretty hefty dose of romance which I'm usually not very fond of.

Tim, self promotion is banned by Amazon on these forums. If you want to promote your book, you can only do it on Meet Our Authors. You need to delete your posts here and post there instead.

Do you have a kindle? 'Of Darkness and Light' by Lily Crussell is free this weekend. It's a YA paranormal romance with angels and demons. Alternately The Hunger Games, The Game of Thrones (A song of Ice and Fire) series (very adult in places, but I'm on the fourth book and am completely addicted), Empress Orchid, Poison Study or Ender's Game are all awesome. Your list is very similar to my taste in books, so look these up, you might enjoy them x

don't worry, an awful lot of people make that mistake.

If you go to http://www.amazon.co.uk/forum/meet%20our%20authors/ref=cm_cd_rvt?_encoding=UTF8&cdForum=Fx3ETKKJQSTRPGM you might see a thread worth adding to. But otherwise hang round here for the 'crack' ;-))

If you're struggling for a good read, you should try The Immortals series by Alyson Noel. I do not know what age you are, but these are teen books, all though not in the least bit young. Magic, romance and fantasy is woven into this compelling series of six. (Evermore, Blue Moon, Shadowland, Dark Flame, Night Star, Everlasting) I have read them an I truly have to say they are one of the BEST series I have ever read.

Hi guys. I know this doesn't really answer the OP but just wanted to warn folk looking for a new fantasy book that might be willing to give this book a punt. The Black Talisman: Land Of The Four Quarters is truly dire, avoid at all costs, don't believe me? Read the reviews of it on here.
OT even though they are real world based I'd recommend Giles Kristian's Viking books, I really enjoyed them.
Thanks guys, good reading and take care.

Fascinated - what is your book about? Title?

EDIT
That's not fair - to be honest I only ask so I can go and tag it as spam, and 'not very good' or similar. That is pretty much what happens when you spam. Ohh, and we dig into the review history, and see how many get deleted as shill reviews.

What was the title again?

:)

The rules are that you can only blatently self promote in the Meet Our Authors section
However you can put your book up on the page your name at the top of your post links to.
So if someone clicks the name, it leads them to your book.
Another thing to think of, if you are an author with a book presumably written under your real name (or at least a pen name which will look 'real', why on earth aren't you posting under that name?

Cavern of Black Ice is a great read - a real page turner. It's the first book in the Sword of Shadows fantasy series by J. V. Jones. I've just finished it and bought book 2, A Fortress of Grey Ice which I'm also enjoying (100 pages in). Definitely worth a try.

I just read a new one from "David Chitty" called "The Woman" that was pretty good. I'd never heard of them so was put off initially, but it seems to be on special offer for free now (not that £1.53 was that expensive anyway!) so thought it was worth a try and it wasn't half bad. May even pay for future books if they stay below £2.
