Should Zoverstocks be banned.??

What an incredibly silly thing to say. if you don't like competition, get out of the business. Zoverstocks have every right to sell their wares at whatever price they choose, thats called free market enterprise. If you are unable to provide a similar service to them at a competative price then that is your problem, not Zoverstocks. What your post represents is a case of sour grapes my friend, nothing more nothing less.

Dorset trader if all you are interested in is how much of a profit you are making then you are in the wrong game! These days It is all about keeping your customers happy! Once you have a happy customer you will see them return to you therefore you may make 2,3 or 4 + sales and you will make your margins! To say you just want a big juicy profit off one sale is madness especially in this sales climate. All I can say is good luck to you and ZOverstocks are doing a great job! I myself know you get it right every time!

ive been waiting for a month for 2 games to deliver from zoverstocks they dont reply to emails any trader could do better then these guys prices are good service is really poor

I have pretty much stopped trading second hand goods on Amazon and Play.com as there is no point .. I used to turn over about a grand a month on Play.com so they are losing out a hundred pounds or so a month o from myself in revenue.Corallate this up and they must be losing a mint from other sellers. It would be interesting to see if Zoverstocks are filling this gap in revenue which seems unlikely as the same volume is probably getting traded overall but prices and therefore commission must be shrinking.I can't work out how this makes good business sense for Play or Amazon to have one seller dominate their market place as its an economic fact this is bad for everyone (except Zoverstocks of course) in the long run. Also interstingly if I were such a sizeable distributer as Zoverstocks why am I selling my stuff via secondary markets thus cutting into my P and L?? so makes me wonder what is in it for market owners?? I do slightly object to their autobot pricing software as well..Im assuming they get a bit uppity if people try to price fix as well as you could absolutly skin them if you desired by droping your prices then buying up their stock..am assuming their not so in favour of the free market if that happens to them!! has anyone tried this strategy with them..would be intereted to know how that worked out?

I've been ordering DVDs from Zoverstocks (namely Scrubs, so far the first six seasons), and all have them have arrived quickly and in good condition. Obviously because they're pre-owned they're not perfect, but they are in very good condition as described and all play perfectly. I've ordered some from Play and some from Amazon (due to differing prices), and it has been the same every time - they arrive quickly and in the condition described.

Some people seem to have had bad experiences, but I'm just putting mine out there - everything I've ordered so far has been exactly what I was expecting.

As a seller, I can see why the autobot pricing software would be annoying, but as a buyer they provide what I want for a cheap price in good condition, which is exactly what I'm looking for.

I've just received a mint copy of the Stooges Metallic 2x 'ko for under 10 quid from Zoverstocks - delighted. While they keep producing the goods I'll keep using them.

A.Ooop, it looks like a barcode issue - 2 different products sharing the same barcode, which is exceedingly rare but it does happen. For example I have a boxset of CDs at home and the barcode on the outside of the box is identical to the barcode on all the discs inside, to a computer they would all appear to be the same.

Judging by the volume of orders they shift (just look at the amount of feedback, over 2 million!) they will most likely just check the title and the barcode match and then ship it, resulting in the unfortunate error that you encountered.

I agree Zoverstocks should stand alone and trade away from Amazon, they undercut and sell stuff far too cheap. Not faire to the artists either and other sellers. They also trade as Magpie and buy your CDs and DVDs to re- sell here. I agree with the first post and would not use them on principle. They are leaches!

How is it not fair to the artists? 2nd hand CD's are always going to be sold regardless of whether zovers is there or not. It's a free market, they can do what they like. I personally think they're a godsend - music was far too overpriced before they came along. Even iTunes is too expensive - selling a digital product with no re-sell value for the same price as a physical one, pffft! No thanks!

bought a dvd for my daughter from a private seller last week. E-mailed me to say the disc was too scratched for him to bother sending it out so he cancelled the order and did not take payment. He got good feedback for honesty, now question time, Would zoverstocks have sent that DVD anyway? Answer: yes in hope that I consider the £2 I paid to not be worth chasing and don't bother with the refund request. Go on, tell me I'm wrong.

I'll keep using the independant sellers, I'll keep avoiding zoverstocks, love how there are so many sellers to choose from on Amazon so I can do that!

If you insist - you are wrong! My first or second ever purchase from ZO was a 5 cd box set . A day or two after purchase they sent me an email saying that whilst checking prior to shipping that one of the discs had failed QC so they refunded. About a week later they had same item up for sale. As it was a fairly uncommon item I suspected they'd just relisted faulty one. It was so cheap, under 3 quid I took a chance,reasoning that if 1 out of 5 discs was dodgy it was still a bargain. It arrived a week later with all 5 discs in near mint condition.

I have used Zoverstocks before, but after a bad experience - they sent me the wrong disc and i didn't get refunded until about 2 months later after several mails. It seems to me that they are fine until something goes wrong and you have to contact them.
As seller, i dont think there is anything wrong in how they are selling cheaply, after all that's what people want isn't it? Yes, you could say they are my competition, but i still make money. How? - because i dont atempt to compete with them! I spent my time researching what people want, what they are prepared to pay - then get off my butt and go out and look for the stuff. That way everything sells within six weeks. So there is room for all sellers on Amazon - just have to think differently from the big boys.

Zoverstocks are excellent. 9/10 CDs and DVDs I buy are from them. If anything they understate product quality indicating 'Very good' when stuff is more 'Like New'. I sell quite a lot on Zon too but I can often get an edge on zoverstocks as most of the stuff I sell is 'New' and 'Like New' while I also offer same day 1st class posting. If you want to compete with them this is what you have to do. Zoverstocks purchases take a week or so to arrive. No point whingeing about them. What a totally daft OP.

No they should not be banned? why should they just because they sell second hand goods cheaply and make a bit of money on the P&P. It's a consumer market and if I can buy a good quality second hand DVD or CD from them for less than anywhere else (even including P&P) then why shouldn't I? Just because you're not making the profit you want and can't compete doesn't mean the consumer should lose out. Sadly for you competition is all about who sells the best goods cheapest in any given market. I have bought loads from Zoverstocks because they are cheap and fast and so far courteous, why should I pay more? The disadvantage for you is that, as someone else said, their business model is to sell a hugh quantity at low margin and i suspect make most money from the P&P. You can't compete with that. Competition is all about driving prices down (well at least that's the theory) and those with the best business model win. I say well done to Zoverstocks for having a great model in a cutthroat world and long may they carry on selling on Amazon!

Ive tried selling a few dvds on here before. Actually 2 of them are still listed. Id check back after a few hours and zoverstocks would beat my price by a penny. Then id lower it and then theyd lower it again etc etc. Simply put, this is just the way it goes folks. Wer all looking for the best deals out there and in the dvd market zoverstocks is the king and ruler. This is buisness.

To the point...Ban them? Are you kidding? Your upset because your not making the money YOU want to. DVDs dont hold theyre value at all unless theyre collectors editions. If you pay £15 for a brand new dvd dont expect to be getting that money back ever again once you've opened it and are selling second hand. I will always go for the cheapest deal i can find and thats the iron clad rule with nearly everyone. Frankly i love zoverstocks. I owe a great portion of my DVD collection to them. I can buy from them and actually feel like 'hey you know what? i got my moneys worth'

My favourite and most bought from seller on amazon. In the economy we live in right now in the UK im glad theres still somewhere i can pick up my films and games for good prices and feel like ive spent my wages well. Frankly i think theyre a credit.

In the last year I ordered a handfull dvd's from Zoverstock. Prices are very reasonable, quality is good and there is no reason at all to have them banned. It's always great to do business with them.

I agree with C Jenkins...I buy loads of CD's off of Ebay, Play and Amazon and 80% of the time Zoverstocks are the cheapest by far; some of the other sellers on all these platforms make me laugh with the descriptions and the prices they attach to their CD's. I'd like to say a big, big thank you to Zoverstocks for making fab CD's available for music lovers everywhere and being the most grounded retailer out there.

Banned? Every single member of this sorry organisation should be dragged out of their beds in the middle of the night and shot in the bottom!

They're flogging cheap second hand DVDs and CDs for chissakes - and doing a splendid job too, in my experience. So nobody's ever had the wrong stuff or shoddy goods or a parcel go missing with Zon, then?

You're absolutely right, of course. 'Zon never, ever, gets it wrong and Zoverstocks inevitably does. Quite why they can still manage to trade and to turn a profit is beyond my ken. They must depend on mugs like me to keep them afloat (sigh).
