Hi jake i say no. Also it says on your licence that you have to pay if you watch programs as they are broadcast, but since the introduction of digital that doesn't happen as there is a delay of about 5 second, longer if you watch in HD. You could try not paying and using this excuse. If you do let me know how you get on.

Thanks jake. You could also try writing(showing my age) or emailing the head of the BBC requesting him to stop sending signals to your home, but he can continue to do so on the understanding that if it continues it's for free. Forgot to add that its free to watch the BBC online so to charge for watching on a tv is breaking discrimination laws.

You do not pay the tax because you watch the BBC but because you own a TV.

At least BBC don't keep broadcasting endless adverts that seem to be lasting longer than the programs they keep interrupting.

That's because they don't have to work for their money. It's handed to them on a plate unlike the others.

Amazon is a shop. Go to the Daily Mail website and do your nasty nonsense there. Meanwhile Amazon customers are buying DVDs of Sherlock, Doctor Who, Halifax Thingy, and loads and loads of wonderful stuff from the BBC. Get a life.

Buying something you already paid for via the TV Licence Fee.

The tax is for watching live television, not owning a TV. It's perfectly legal to own a TV as long as you don't watch (or record) live transmissions. For example, watching on the iPlayer after the programme has been broadcast does not require a licence.

I don't have a TV licence. Don't need one. I use On Demand for all the channels, hook my laptop to my tv and just watch it that way. No need to watch live tv again.

Absolutely. You might learn something - even from cbeebies. Even if the words are confusing, just singalong. Eventually you'll manage to cope with ITV and be ready for the stuff where there's no adverts and you have to concentrate for longer. Take it gradually.

JAKE - Please do NOT pay for the BBC. In fact, stop paying all your taxes. And then, please live a life of leisure at Her Majesty's pleasure... at the expense of us tax-payers. We'll all be much happier with you away.

Let's be honest here. Most of the country watches the BBC and its programmes in some way. Even the haters. And 99% of its residents would be poorer without it.
