Oh, the book on how to influence people, piss them off and start wars.....................THAT Bible!

This discussion should be removed, it is not something to be discussed in the deals section on a shopping website.
The bible is Fact plain and simple, it has been proven through scientific means in many ways.
Those who believe it to be fiction are the ones who need help, they are afraid to believe because they know deep down its going to be hard work and they will see things about themselves of which they are unhappy.
God loves you even if you do not believe in him, i just pray that you will all come to know him before it is too late.

Amanda, you are entitled to your beliefs, but not to prevent discussion of them.

The Bible is a record of many things, but there is not a single shred of verifiable evidence as to the existence of a god.

Faith and fact should not be confused, that is when religion becomes truly dangerous.

Fact, its a fantastic 66 book account of who we are and where we will go to in the after life. It contains stories to illustrate Life. It is inspired by God's Holy Spirit and when you dwell on its contains all sorts of things happen that enhance your life. Well that's what Ive found it to be

i am not preventing discussion of them i am merely pointing out this this is not the place to have them. If anyone wishes to truly discuss their beliefs then there are many dedicated places to do this.
Religion is not dangerous only the people who persecute the religious. I should clarify Christianity is not dangerous.
If you have read the Bible and i mean really read the Bible you will know there are many undeniable facts pointing to the existence of God. Everyday someone tries to disprove the Bible in one way or another but in the end they are always proven wrong/mistaken.

I am tired of people starting posts like this as a way of attacking Christians beliefs.

God loves you even if you do not believe in him, i just pray that you will all come to know him before it is too late.

Amanda, many seem to be partaking in the discussion, so it seems as good a place as any to hold it (likewise you can choose not to).

Would you care to present one "undeniable fact" that proves the existance of a god?

I do not doubt that Christ taught only love. However, for two thousand years those that claim to act in his name have tortured, murdered, abused & sheltered abusers (and yes, there is evidence for that statement).

Chris unfortunately we are only human and as we have free will many people do unthinkable acts of violence.
I can only say that as a Christian I strive to do my best and yes i fail but i ask for forgiveness and try harder.
Those who commit these acts will have to answer to God for it, no matter how much I feel they should be punished it is not my place to do so.

Can you present one undeniable fact that God does not exist?
Without God we would not be here. If there was an undeniable fact to prove without a doubt that God did exist then everyone would know it and there would be no need for Faith.

God loves you even if you do not believe in him, i just pray that you will all come to know him before it is too late.

Amanda, I don't doubt your personal committment, that shines through.

As I'm sure you know, one can not prove a negative. Logic and lack of evidence tells me that God, Santa Clause, The Easter Bunny and the Lock Ness Monster don't exist but I can't prove that any of them don't.

Amanda over the last month every time i have been down my high street( main shopping area) there has been people handing out leaflets about what god has done for us. So if that's acceptable why not a shopping website?

Amanda, I am waiting with baited breath for you to give me one ounce of scientific evidence that the bible is true in any way at all.

Somebody must have made all this stuff, because we don't know who doesn't mean that nobody did.

I love silly people who say all this creation must of been made by god. It could not have just appeared from nothing. OK if an amoeba can not evolve, from nothing, how come god just appeared. WHO made GOD?? Then who made gods god??? etc. Just making up more and more powerful 'Gods' to cover the previous creature is stupid. On the whole I believe an amoeba is more likely to just evolve than a god figure.

Precisely my point, how can perfection create imperfection?

Ceebee says:
FICTION, with elements of history involved. Created by MEN, not God.
What makes me laugh, is the way it is manipulated to suit the occasion. Same sex marriage? Infidelity? Changed the rules haven't they? The bible is the weapon of unthinking hypocrites as far as I'm concerned, and people too afraid to face their own mortality.

In reply to an earlier post on 16 Mar 2014 10:14:18 GMT
Simple answer is an amoeba evolved first. Not made by jack . Just appeared at random. Much more realistic than a god simply appeared, out its own ass.

Nother thought! Has anyone noticed, that your religious beliefs, depend on where you are born? It's cultural pressure. Anyone who isn't a practising Muslim, in a Muslim country, is likely to end up dead.
No matter what your religion, any honest person can't say the other religions are wrong, and THEY are right. A Jehovah Witness once said to me on my doorstep, "Why are you an Atheist, because nobody is BORN an Atheist" ...... which left me a bit gobsmacked. Where in his tiny mind, does he think people being born, already believe in God? If nobody tells them, they won't know there is anything to believe in, and no matter how perfect they are as a person, they are going to burn in Hell when they die.
If I believed in God, I would reject him anyway, as a sadistic entity. What sort of being, creates people for the purpose of worshipping him? He would need a shrink!

Anthony says:
Perhaps that's how GOD decided to do it, if there is one.

I will have one last try. If a perfect being existed how could he create imperfection, i.e. (MAN).

Christianity is not dangerous Amanda?
Wow, which world do you live in? They have fought more wars to impose their religion, than for any other cause! What about the Spanish Inquisition? What about the Spanish wiping out much of Latin America? What about the battles with the Muslims for Jerusalem? What about the burning of Witches here? You could go on for ages. Most of the early Christians were bloody savages, and I expect you would still fight to protect your beliefs from people who reject them. So bloody savages who accept God, go to heaven, and some of the finest people ever born, go to Hell for not believing? Your God can go to Hell and see the damage he causes.

Totally agree If god existed he would be the greatest evil ever. Why would any creature create subjects to worship him. As for jokers thinking we are no more than god's ant farm. Grow up you may have little self worth, the rest of us think a little more of ourselves.

So much anger from people who dont believe, there is no need for you to to be so nasty.
God Created man in his own image, we were not imperfect until we broke the rules. God gave us free will to choose unfortunately we chose wrong.
Why can people not accept responsibility for their own wrongdoings? why must they always blame God?

For God so loved the world that he gave his ONLY son to die for us so that we might live.

Ceebee says:
Since when have facts been nasty? It's not facing facts and truth that make people accept a faith in a God to cope.
WE chose wrong? What did I do? Your Gt Gt Grandfather was a Slaver, therefore you must be punished?
Eve picked the apple, and Adam ate it ..... what was the diet they should have been on? What a rib tickler.
