She was great on the tv Scarlet...made cooking look easy, not like some of the tv chefs that like to make out cooking is a skill most of us wont be able to master.

Yes indeed Pix Didn't she do a show for non-cookies? (how to boil an egg etc).

Talking of food Pix, just ordering some lunches in - Sushi for Friday - Damned expensive but I'm not paying for it and I have the fun of deciding what to order!

We have a 1982 copy of Simply Delicious by Rose Elliot which has provided great service, her quick Nuttolene stew is one of our staples. Sadly they stopped making Nuttolene as few years ago but Grano Vita's Nut Luncheon is very similar. We also have a 1987 (the year our daughters were born) copy of her Vegetarian Mother and Baby Book but that doesn't look as if we have opened it very often.

Be careful Scarlet, I don't think they cook that stuff properly. I was watching some go by on a sort of Scalextrix track and I thought it looked a bit dangerous.

Lovely! We are yet to have a sushi bar here in Somerset, though did try a Japanese restaurant in Taunton the other week, quite good!

What's your fav sushi? I really like the taste of nori, it's good for you too.

From Itsu - Crab California Maki or Chicken Teriyaki on a bed. Sushi is so very popular here Pix you can get pretty sick of it. we have a Wasabi and Wagamama here to0 - the queue at Wasabi is massive at lunchtime so you spend most of your break standing in line.

Lauren Bacall curled up her toes yesterday aged 89, liked her, stuck by her beliefs her whole life and I don't think she ever really got over losing Bogey, an unlikely pairing if ever there was one.
RIP Lauren, one of the best!

Raw fish, eh, Scarlet? I remember I said to a waiter once, "Er, excuse me, but I don't think this fish is properly cooked!" He asked me why. I said, "because it's eaten all the chips!" Badum-tish!

Well, Pixie, because of The Great British Bake Off, I've been inspired to make some bread rolls. They're currently proving. I'll let you know how they turn out.
