dave says:
the chances of simultaneous creation, must be billions to one against, in fact I;d have to say, impossible

dave says:
I presume you agree, it can only be one or the other?

In reply to an earlier post on 31 Jan 2015 16:35:32 GMT
Chris says:
Thanks for the clear response Dave

In reply to an earlier post on 31 Jan 2015 16:34:40 GMT
dave says:
1. no
2. there is no alternative viable answer

In reply to an earlier post on 31 Jan 2015 16:32:14 GMT
Chris says:
Dave, tbh I'm a bit lost as to what your point is, so help me out...

Firstly, do you accept evolution?

Secondly, if you don't you believe that the simultaneous creation of a fully grown man and woman from thin air is the most sensible alternative?

In reply to an earlier post on 31 Jan 2015 16:24:41 GMT
dave says:
yes, but the point was, in the egg they carried their own food, the mother can;t suckle them

In reply to an earlier post on 31 Jan 2015 15:55:30 GMT
Chris says:
They feed on breast milk Dave.

Posted on 31 Jan 2015 14:51:47 GMT
dave says:
it is just not possible to do that in stages

In reply to an earlier post on 31 Jan 2015 14:50:46 GMT
dave says:
ok lets go back 350m years or so, how did the change over occure,, following your argument, one day an egg laying monkey type transforation in progress,...what gave birth to a live young?? what would she feed it on?

In reply to an earlier post on 31 Jan 2015 14:46:59 GMT
dave says:
I would prefer not to know why the good Lord made me this way. IBut I am facinated by the prospects of the day non mamals started giving birth to live young????

In reply to an earlier post on 31 Jan 2015 14:36:39 GMT
Chris says:
Mamals evolved around 350million years ago, so that's your start point Dave.

B. Lisle says:
Dave ... surely the same argument could be made against creation.... so god created us in his image ... but with only half the brain function..... so if we can utilise 100% of the brain does that make us god?

In reply to an earlier post on 31 Jan 2015 13:48:02 GMT
dave says:
yes but...........when did woman stop laying eggs and start to give birth to live young.

In reply to an earlier post on 31 Jan 2015 13:24:34 GMT
Chris says:
Dave "As with many myths, you can generally begin the debunking process by reminding yourself that the claim is pretty ridiculous."

You may enjoy myth 3 here, where science explains how the whole of the brain IS used http://lifehacker.com/5867049/nine-stubborn-brain-myths-that-just-wont-die-debunked-by-science

Chris says:
Dave, evolution is scientifically proven with a mass of evidence, it does not require me with my limited knowledge to defend it.

It does not follow that if man does not currently use 100% of his brainpower (a myth) that he must have been crated by a supreme being of which there is no evidence. My iPod is only 60% full...did God make that?

In reply to an earlier post on 31 Jan 2015 12:44:18 GMT
dave says:
Yes Chris I follow your logic, but the same must be said for evolution, and that is what you are defending

B. Lisle says:
I see there is a campaign to pardon those who were prosecuted because of their sexuality..
I find it incredible in my life that people were persecuted because of this.
it was secularism that was the driving force in changing this ridiculous law.... it was religious dogma that the law was based upon..... and if the church had its way it would probably still be the law today!!

3 things that bring to mind the delusion of belief this week

Homosexuality ... a victory for secularism
the holocausts.... and the millions who constantly prayed .... and their god was inactive
The ordination of a female Bishop in the CoE... also a victory for secularism... does this mean the church was wrong for a couple of millennium???

I read that Val is leaving the discussion... I wish her well....... she wont admit it but she has a lot to thank secularism for .... she and females are far more equal in society today ...... if religion had its way she would be her 'husbands property' ... I suspect the converse is nearer ..... LOL

Chris says:
Why Dave?

If a god had created us would we not be more likely to use the full capacity (s)he had given us?

In reply to an earlier post on 31 Jan 2015 10:46:11 GMT
Chris says:
So what is your theory for the "creation" of "man" as we know it Dave?

it is likely that the chicken evolved from a predecessor bird so the egg would have been laid containing what we know as a chicken...so effectively simultaneous.

In reply to an earlier post on 31 Jan 2015 10:08:13 GMT
dave says:
Anothe point worth a ponder, as humans, we only use around a half of our brains, surley against the number 1 point in the argument for evolution.

dave says:
No not really, during the evolutionary stage, when did woman stop laying eggs, and begin to give birth and suckle their young. But I like your style Chris, Q. what came first, the chicken or the egg

6500 times people saying fact, fiction, no fact, no it is fiction, no it is fact,

LOL

I will leave the long winded debate by saying it is as factual as any other religious book
