Charlie says: Thanks suzy, would be fab but I don't have kindle either. Am a fan of the environmentally unsound paper books I'm afraid. I love every one of their stuck together food splattered pages :)

Sam Hunter says: It should be as simple as downloading it and then using it. I downloaded the Android Kindle app for my tablet and it was no harder than that. You can then download Kindle ebooks and read them on your laptop.

Sam Hunter says: Okay... all ye doubters and sniggerers... :-) I've just installed the pc version of the Kindle app and it is simple. Click on the link that Spock provided on the previous page. This will take you to the Amazon page and the download window should also open*. Click on 'Save file'. When the download is complete, go to the saved file and double-click it. This will install the Kindle program. When that is finished it will ask you for your Amazon login. When you've done that... ta da! You now have Kindle on your pc.
* If it doesn't open, there's a link to begin the download. Click on that.

suzysunshine7 says: Okay Sam, I've done that - but where is it now? - and how do I access it again when I want it?
EDIT - Ohhh, right? I've found it under the START icon? And when I click on it, it comes up with Kindle initialising and there were three books already there? - which I didn't really want and managed to delete with a right click. But if I go to look at a book - do I always have to get back into Kindle mode that way? And how do I download? Do I click on the 'Shop In Kindle' button each time? And then how do I pay for the download?.....x
Oooh, scrap that Sam! I've just found the help page with all of the answers!!!.....x

Sam Hunter says: You could start the Kindle app by going through the start menu each time, or you could put an icon on the desktop. You download a book by buying it on Amazon the same way that you buy anything. When you go to the page for a Kindle ebook, under the 'Buy now with 1-click' button it says 'Deliver to' and then there's a drop down menu.
In that menu it should say something like 'Suzy's Kindle for PC'. This is where it will send the ebook when you buy it. Once bought, the ebook will appear in the app in the same place as the free books that you deleted. Try it out with one of the many free ebooks available on Amazon. That way you can get used to it without spending money.
AND VOILA!.....I now have a Kindle!!! - and so can you too!!! :o>
