Hi all -

Flying visit to query whether anyone has used an online shop of the above name?

I ordered something from them on 22nd Feb which has not turned up, and is not showing as dispatched on the online order tracking. I've emailed them asking them to cancel the order as the service is too slow (to no response) and I can't seem to get anything other than an answerphone when calling them.

I'm wondering whether I've run into my first online crooks...

How annoying! Have you looked up the address and name in case there is another number?....

I can't find anything else :(

They are like a black hole - complete radio silence. Very annoying, indeed!

Phew - FINALLY got a refund! They didn't bother to actually call, or email, though. Just updated my order status which sent an automatic whatsit. Mental note - never, ever, order from them again!

I've tried here instead http://www.saltandpepper.co.uk/. I *will* get my Milton Brook pestle and mortar!

That's good news Isobel!

They sell them on here , don't they? Or are you after a better price?

Milton Brook Pestle and Mortar Large Size 2 there are other sizes too. Free delivery

Isobel Ayres says:
They do sell them on here, but not the size 6 (20cm) one, which is the one I'm after - it's a biggun, I want to make pesto etc in it, rather than just crushing spices and things.

Glad you got your money back,

I wanted a pestle and mortar, believe it or not, to grind down hard OXO cubes.

I sent for one which turned out to be like bone china with daisies painted on it. I gave that away as a Christmas present.

I sent for another and it was a little diddy of a thing. By the time I was pressing with the pestle I could not see anything for my big fingers.

So I ordered yet another and it was huge, granite and it takes two hands to carry it from cupboard to worktop. I am sure I'll find something to grind with it.

Then I sent for another which was just right - it fits two oxo cubes and I can see what I am doing. Ceramic with a special finish on the pestle and the mortar.

Why can't they put something on the illustration to show the size.

they came to my hometown once and i got a global knife from a stall they had opened for a lot cheaper than in other stores.
i made a purchase also near the end of febuary, it has also not shown up.
i have made inquiries about it and was given the tracking code for it which shows its in the hands of royal mail but everytime i check it, it says nothing different other than processing through our network.
i complained 3 days ago and they are sending me a form to fill in for lost item and sending me a new knife set.
hopefully it will show up this time

They just take a while to respond to email - and you can't get through by phone. I wondered if I should stop my card. However, my purchases came in about 10 days and were 30% less than other places.
