Well done, RetroEd and daughter.
I'm relatively new to this forum so wondered do you have a blog or a facebook page Mrs Johnson?

Posted on 20 Mar 2013 08:54:57 GMT
Hey Kittycat, I do indeed it's "www.facebook.com/mrsjohnsons"

I am just running a competition for Amazon vouchers at the moment (you just have to like the page for a chance to win), but I will be posting another recipe from the book on there soon, so we can have another cooking competition. They're good fun, and I always choose an Amazon/Foodie gift for the winner.

Come and join us! :) xx

Wow, our own fan page! Thanks :)

I have to say that Sophie and I really enjoyed the challenge, but not half as much as eating the end result! Under the guidance of my daughter i have learnt that every utensil in the kitchen has to be used in the creation of any masterpiece; thank goodness for the dishwasher and the extra bowls etc that we won!!!

A great prize Mrs Johnson. Thank you. We cant wait for the next challenge !

Congratulation to Retro Ed and Sophie, but as I have not been here for a while, what is going on? goodies to be won? what do we have to do? (I hope not a souffle, mine just deflated in the middle like and old balloon :( )

@frenchie Mrs Johnson inspired us to have a go at making some Caramel Flapjacks for a Facebook competition she was running. The finished article was incentive enough, but to then win a signed copy of her book and other amazing goodies was a real bonus!

It's worth joining Facebook just to follow her :)

@kittycat it's worth having a go... Be quite good having us all part of the competition. I might learn something. Actually, I only know how to make Flapjacks, so best to say I will learn a lot!

Thank you for your explanation Retro Ed. I did miss a lot indeed. I do not have a Facebook account but I am going to sneak in with my sis' account. Hmm... very exciting, I am very curious now.... we have a Cookery Author here? Waow, I am humbled. Ha ha, Stintoto, eat your heart out **smiles**.

And the book is winging it's way to you now Retro!! You should have it tomorrow...

I have the amazon "likes" competition running at the moment, but while that ticks away I think we need another cook off :)

I think something savoury, hot and comforting, to battle this shocking weather! Anyone snowed in/out?

Debs xx

I wondered what on earth u were talking about. Had to Google it! The first one that came up was made with pickled onions and Gherkins; yuk - but then I discovered this Tartiflette which sounded right up my street! http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1185/mary-cadogans-tartiflette.

I think my lifespan will be significantly reduced listening to your recipes!

Ooh Retro, it is wonderful..... If you type in your google box, strawberry fields Rothwell northants/tartiflette you will find the site for a little bistro "strawberry fields " they put up the recipe for the one I tried, it is really easy to do. I,ve looked up other recipes but they didn,t sound as nice.

Hey Diamond, I hope you had a lovely Easter!

You can enter the vouchers competition just by liking my facebook page "www.facebook.com/mrsjohnsons"

I am going to choose a different cooking prize for April's cooking competition, this one will be to cook a dish from the main dishes section of my book (I will post the recipe on my page), then you post it up and ask all of your friends to like it :)

How was everyones easter? xx

@cookingdiamond. Sorry for late reply, been away for a week (work sadly!). That looks a great recipe... another one printed out!

@Mrs D K Johnson. Booked arrived safe and sound, but whisked away by my daughter before I got a chance to see it! Well, a few days have passed and I finally got a close look and its genuinely very good. It includes some really great looking recipes and I honestly would never have thought this was your first book! I have been presented with several 'shopping lists' already..! Great job and thanks for the lovely inscription to us both on the inside.

Both following you closely now :)

As for Facebook, its genuinely easy to join, just go to www.facebook.com click on register and fill in the boxes. Some friends of mine tick the boxes to be invisible and only reveal themselves to friends, so complete privacy - I only mention that as I personally don't want unsavoury characters following me! On the other hand, a lot of people just go for it and let everyone and anyone find them and their photos... If anyone needs a hand, just ask.

Complete privacy on Facebook is relative, as you will notice if you follow the news...also I dislike that now all the photos etc uploaded to Facebook become their property, not yours...it'll take more than what I've seen so far to convince me to join.

Is this lovely Kindle book Mrs Johnson's Melting Pot yours Mrs Johnson?
I got it free today but I am going to order it as paperbook as cooking books on Kindle are not that great.
If it is yours, thank you. **hugs**
