I know, I was surprised, he really got into it. He,s got lovely warm hands so he was great for kneading the sugar paste and smoothing it on the cakes. Bit heavy handed with the rolling out but I showed him how to keep turning it so it didn,t stick. It,s a funny relationship. It it works well. We can fight like cat and dog sometimes but when we have a common goal or a crisis we are unbeatable together40 plus years must count for something.xxx

I'm sure it does! That's a long time to get to know each other. If you agreed on everything it sure would be boring...just don't let him take the glory for the cake or that'll be a row! Lol!xxxx

40 years!! Wow! Awe that's lovely and still cooking together. We've only been married 4. Hope we still enjoying cooking together in another 36 years! ( well by saying enjoying cooking together I mean me cooking, him coming in and stirring things and my shouting at him to leave it alone as I want it to brown!(does that count as cooking together?))

No, he doesn,t really cook with me,just likes to interfere. But when it comes to things like the cake or Christmas puddings and stuff he really gets stuck in. He likes it if we have friends round for a meal and he can invent a starter and he,s brilliant on the barbecue. He used to do a lot of sea fishing so he,s pretty handy with a filleting knife and will have a go at butchery, boning out a shoulder of lamb or a turkey. But I can,t honestly say that he cooks.xx

No, he won,t do that, he always " bigs"me up when it comes to cooking which is nice, but it sometimes means that people have high expectations of me.xxx. Anyway, time I went to bed , night, night all. Sweet dreams.

Filleting and butchery that's amazing! Those are jobs I'm rubbish at and would happily pass on. I'm a bit of a control freak on everything else. Sounds like you have him well trained! Maybe you could run some classes? Can send mine in for some lessons???

In reply to an earlier post on 13 Oct 2012 23:21:54 BDT
Yeah, I,ll get him to start classes,I,m rubbish at those jobs too. Mind you, I still can,t get him to put the rubbish out or put the towels back on the rail and the vacuum cleaner is a complete mystery to him, bless.xx
