Hmmm, I love that song. It reminds me of growing up in Ireland and all the old folksongs my Nan would sing. :o>
I remember, I was in the middle of a marathon baking session when they suddenly announced that Kirsty MacColl had been killed in a boat accident - she had such a lovely voice. I like singers that stand out, ones with voices that you can instantly recognise. Everybody sounds like everyone else these days!

Mainly Stockport, but I went to live with my Nan (great-grandma) in Clogheen, South Tipperary when I was 4 - 6 'cos my Mum was ill. We lived in a cottage with no electricity and the water came from the well in the back garden! My great Uncle Mick bred whippets and so you couldn't move for dogs and puppies! - happy days! That would have been the early 70's.

Aaah sweet! I love my animals -
our 2 current little woofers are so clever and funny!
I'm really missing them in here!

Don't know why you're there,but I hope your not feeling too bad.But then you're there so it can't me pleasant.I hope you don't think I'm being nosey,about your stay,because I didn't mean that as a question.Sorry,I'm the rambler!x

It's no secret wobberoo! I've been honest on here with everyone - it saves the awkward questions and answers about day to day things! Osteoarthritis - came out the blue, Oct 2010. Both knees, then hips, then shoulders, 6 months ago >left hand, 3 weeks ago >right hand. It's untreatable, and because I'm so young and have it so badly in so many places, pretty much in-operable.

But life was never meant to be fair - there are others in here far worse off than me. You have to search very hard sometimes for blessings to count, but they are there if you really look!!! :o>

I'm truly very sorry to learn that.Stunned.Life is NOT fair.Don't know what to say.Got all sorts of things to say,but there aren't words to say them with.x

No need sweetie x You'd never know to look at me, It's only when I struggle to walk with my crutches, the penny drops!
And even then most people presume I've had a broken leg or something. The new hand splints are a pain to wear though and a bit of a giveaway - probably going to bin them when I get home!
Some of the poor people in here look so shockingly ill, that I'm sat here feeling like such a fraud in comparison!
Anyway, off the morphine drip now, and both hands starting to work again - so l'm a very happy bunny!!! :o>

I had better go - I am 'supposed' to be very ill, you know!!! - Hee, Hee! ;o>
The snorer went home today, so we might get some sleep tonight - hooray!!!
And I am hoping to go home tomorrow. Got my bags all packed up ready!
Night-Night, Sleep Tight poppet x

Another classic Mum'ism -
"I've missed you so much Darling,
I've even had to talk to your Dad" - !

Good luck with your little woofer - here's hoping! x

Ohhhh, brilliant news Pixie!
Thank goodness for that! What a relief - the candle did the trick then?!

Yep, got home 2 hrs ago to complete chaos - Mitz ran round the garden at 80 miles an hr screaming her little head off - and Tia gave me a big kiss, a deep and meaningful look and then peed on the carpet!

Not quite sure whether to be flattered or cross! - will go with flattered!!! x

By the way - have you got a foolproof halogen oven recipe for fruit cake for P. Saggs on the halogen thread? - I can provide many recipes, but I've never 'halogened' them, so I don't know how 'foolproof' they might be?

Yep! I've just had a bath, finished a huge pile of laundry, fed the dogs, and been late-night shopping!
The 'holiday' is officially over! - Back to business as usual!
