Meatballs by themselves or with something?
Spaghetti and meatballs never did it for me. I dunno, too much work when just adding mince to the sauce is easier and gets better distributed.
Here it's a few meatballs with rice on the side. The economic crunch is showing here, went to my friend's bar and DH asked for meatballs as a tapa and he got 2 small instead of 3 big ones, with a side of rice.

Spaghetti with meatballs (or chunks of sauasage) in a tomato sauce, is a strong childhood memory - its a dish that is always guaranteed to put a smile on my face.

Love the Tapas bars Bearman.....when I have holidayed in Spain I have never put weight on as I just graze and it seems to suit me. Just troll from bar to bar trying them all....what do we get here? Pkt of peanuts or crisps! That's it. No wonder everyone is drunk!

It's only since the made-for-TV movies from the US came in, in the 90s, that glorified "college student" behaviour, that we get kids stumbling-drunk in the streets. Before, being publicly intoxicated was a serious mistake. Drinking without eating might be done by people at home, alone, or old soaks in corners, but the whole point of drinking here has always been the food.
