I do hope your cat didn't suffer pixie. We had to have our last dog put down because his kidneys had started to fail. In the last few weeks you could see the life draining out of him and in the last few days he just stayed in his bed looking sad and in pain.

I remember coming back from the vets when we had to have him put down and seeing his bed, toys and food/chews. That really did bring a tear to the eye. I think if we have to put our current dog down I would clear everything away before we went

Our current dog is only 3 years old so I hope we have plenty of years left together.

Pixie, so sorry you have lost your pet, I know how hard it is for you. Over the years I have grieved for so many lovely dogs.because previously I have always had big dogs who have short lifespans. It never gets easier does it? People say how can you keep putting yourself through all that pain, but I just say it's the price you pay for all the love and fun they give you. They give us far more than we can ever give them, so it's not surprising that we miss them so much. You have a right to grieve, you've lost something very special to you.Xxx

Hi Diamond , if you are wanting fav recipes from your books on your iPad, an easy way is to use Camera on your iPad .just photo it. Then crop it if necessary then when you want to use it just go to photos. I made an album "Recipes" for some of mine which I use in the kitchen, it is especially handy if the print is a bit small on the original, as it's so easy to stretch it on the iPad. Some recipes on line can be downloaded as a PDF file to iBooks, and they are perfect , you can enlarge the font, change the brightness etc. etc.when my ancient old eyes are tired it's a wonderful way to see more easily. I always cover iPad with cling film or put into a zip type plastic bag. Glad to see you are back. Missed you. Xxx

OOOH I,m not sure when we shall go again but I will certainly think about saving recipes on kindle. I wonder if you can download single recipes from anywhere rather than a complete book. I could save them on my ipad I expect, my technical abilities might just run to

Oh pixie to lose your little furry pal is awful. I lost my two boys a few years ago now, they were the last of five cats, Kalli, smudge, socks, tom and Gerry, named by my daughter, not me. They were delightful animals, Gerry was naughty and mischievous, and oh so clumsy. Tom was the terror of the neighbourhood dogs but such a sweet gentleman at home and I missed them terribly. I swear I still see Tom, lurking around the sofa looking for his supper. He used to put his head around the corner of the sofa and miaow pitifully at me until I got up and fed him. If I went for a walk, he came too, silly old thing he was. Feeling for you pix.xxxxx

Oh Pix what can I say to make you feel better? I've just had a very sick doggy for the past couple of weeks we had to say goodbye a few days ago so I've been down the black hole too. There was nothing he loved more than a good pussycat chase so I'd like to think that when they both went over the rainbow they met up and are having great fun together xx

I,ve got it but I haven,t really studied it, I suspect it just a few new twists on old family favourites but I don,t mind, I do love her cooking, I,ve used many of her recipes over the years and they have never let me down yet, but then I like her kind of food, although I make the odd Indian, Thai, Italian or Asian recipe and enjoy them I come back to this style of cooking all the

I'm sorry your cat died pixie. I think every pet owner knows exactly how you're feeling. I still remember the massive hole in our lives that the death of our previous dog left. God knows how I'll feel when our current pet dies

Oh poor Pixie! I feel for you. I remember when I had to have my beloved Saul slept away, it hurt so bad. We were together for 10 wonderful years and I still miss him.

Just downloaded it to my kindle and it has some good recipes at first glance although quite a few I won't use too!
Delia's Cake book comes out on kindle at the end of the month, I find it handy to have the odd cook book on my ipad if I'm away for a few days

Posted on 2 Mar 2014 13:15:08 GMT
I haven't checked the book out yet and I don't think I will. It's strange that I find that there is something unappealing to me about Mary Berry books

I can't quite put my finger on it. I mean I like her on the GBBO and her other TV appearances
