Homemade Fish & Chips V Takeaway Fish & Chips

Posted on 5 Jan 2013 09:45:20 GMT
Takeaway in England or in Spain? There's a huge difference. One being, you can't get bahji in our takeaways and you can, at least in Wales! LOL

In reply to an earlier post on 5 Jan 2013 10:04:53 GMT
I've never been to Spain? - so I guess that it will have to be takeaway in England OR Wales - but please don't ever confuse the two, Orinoco?! because the Welsh Nationalists will probably start serving deep-fried Wombles in retaliation!!! And for a Bhaji, it would also depend on the takeaway too? In the UK, we have Chinese, Indian, Thai, American or traditional English - and probably a few other kinds too!

I'd never confuse the two, Suzy, being half-Welsh myself. In Pontyclun when I was there in the late 80s they offered fish and chips, onion bhaji and "curried chips" (chips with special sauce). Oh I miss it. Nothing better on a raw October day when you'd been round the market in the rain.

Roast silverside and trimmings a la SW Torr v cocido madrileño (hubby's favourite)

Mmmm. duly Googled and it sounds fantastic, Orinoco! Especially the comment on one of the recipes that it is really two courses in one meal and also the perfect Hangover cure?!!
