and I expect you to be there **smile**

If the diet forum is dry (no wonder anyway) and look like the Sahara, here we are like a plush oasis....

Hi French, Me myself and I are are answering for both.

I'm a huge foodie and quite frankly shudder at the thought of one of those pesky D:'(s
I tend to buy books as I can pick up and leave as I choose and also Never do the swearword beginning with D! I try instead to control my portion sizes and choose as healthy as a, finances b, storage will allow (hubby is renovating )

We were never DIET people ( other than thinking, OUGHT TO LOSEWEIGHT SOMETIME) Then horrible illness hit and specialist said lose 30 kilos to Hubby. For the last three years we've suffered terrible conflict. Just how do you balance a passion for cookery & eating against losing 30 kilos.

Hubby got within 3 kilos his target weight, and as it was near Chistmas , I thought what the hell,we'll start again in the new year. He managed to put on 17 kilos in three months!!!!. I put on 2! So we're back on the diet ( small plates etc, if you like it you can't have it) Problem is Hubby is detetmined to eat what he likes. ( pies, puddings, anything fried, cakes etc) I don't cook them, but when we go out!!!

The problem is, he relies on me for everything, and food is one of his few pleasures, I feel mean saying 'no you can't have what you want'. Tonight is classic. We have a bottle of wine twice a week. So tonight we had a small lamd chop, a small slice off a tomato!, cauliflower, carrots and new potatoes, but he said since we still had some wine he wanted cheese and biscuits!!!

Happy cleaner, stop this kind of diets... They just make you worse! It is actually more dangerous to be yo-yo than to be the same weight...

Read Gary Taubes and get to know why your diets are health hazards and why they don't work...

I think the secret is in the portion. Eat whatever you want, but eat it in small portions... alas, portion control have never been my forte, so, I have to walk it out :)

I am off to the diet forum to post few Kindle diet free books. No, to post Kindle free diet books. I just hate to see a deserted forum. Then I may pass by Willie Wit's forum who has got only one thread.
Because I love people (and animals) and I feel loved too, I do not like to see lonely places. This is me though. Some people are quite happy on their own...
