How do others find the Eat Your Books on-line indexing service? Although it is weighted towards US because of sheer numbers, about two thirds of my books are indexed, certainly most of the more useful ones; many of those that aren't are specialist or foreign language. I have no connection with them, other than as a reasonably satisfied customer, but would like to see more UK subscribers as it helps get UK books indexed more quickly.

I can't remember who it is Raymond but someone on this forum subscribes to the site you belong to. I don't at the moment, it seems you are very happy with the service. it will be interesting to see who of us has joined. Thank you for the post.

Hi Raymond! Yep I'm fully fledged eat your books member and really couldn't manage without it now. As a confessed cook book obsessive (no idea how many but several hundred) I found some books to be well used and some not used at all, eat your books is brilliant. I'll put in a few ingredients from the fridge in and all the recipes in my books using these ingredients come up. It makes me use books I wouldn't necessarily get out and recipes that might not catch my eye normally. It's also great for example I wanted a recipe for tiramisu and rather than going to the one I always use I typed it into EYB and 30 plus versions are at my disposal. I think the website makes me use books that I may not get much use out of, also great for using up random ingredients, impulse buys etc!
I hope that makes sense as on my phone and can't read back easily

You can talk!!!! Lol, been to tkmaxx today got trashed copy of Leon Family & Friends: Book 4 Stuffed Vine Leaves Saved My Life and Elizabeth David's Christmas also picked up a child's cookery book. Ellie is made up, it's really good teaches all kinds of basic things like cracking eggs and separating them then using each part separately, she's been choosing recipes all afternoon for the weekend!
I blame you tho, every time you mention tkmaxx my car starts veering off track and ends up outside. Still very few cook books but the prices seem more sensible on the ones they have. They had a copy of Ad Hoc at Home: Family-Style Recipes for a fiver!!! Shame I already have it and everyone I know thinks cookbooks are boring! Fools!!!

Wow! Bargains....yippee! That Nadia book has the most amazing chicken kebab recipe in there, check it out. the marinade is fab. you'll make that alot when you get the BBQ out. If we ever do! I snaffled the Leon book too from there. The copy was a bit rough cover wise but inside was fab. Got it for £3 so can't moan. I like the look of it. Have the other's but not the baking one. The reviews put me off!
What do you think of Ad Hoc at home? Good? Not seen that one.
Our TK was a bit sad, think they are getting rid of all the old tat. They had quite a few Ina's though and I got chatting to a man who was treating his wife to them....what a nice chap!
Ellie ready to get started in the kitchen then? That is fab!x

Hope that's an end to it Charlie. Stu is taking a break and may pop back later.
It doesn't take much to change the dynamics does it? Lost my hair with it today!

Now just whizzed and found Nadia.... Pages 190....126..180..266...200...134 had to buy the mastic on line for that one but since I cooked it I have found it in the indian supermarket in Bristol. It does do something but not sure what!Lol! Think it is good for your digestion. You'll love that book, it's family friendly too.

I must say the whole thing is really off putting. It's usually light relief to come chat here, a break from the kids if you will.
I really do like nadia, not usually into the celeb cookbook thing but she seems to be a real foodie who happens to be famous rather than a celeb trying to cash in. Funny am flicking thro it now. Kids asleep, cup of tea, comfy chair in snug at back of kitchen and pile of new books! Happy days.

Hey Diamond! How's you keeping?? I think it's a crime that cookery seems to be dull to people. I have so many friends with children the same age as mine who heat, rather than cook. It's a shame as their kids won't know the joy of home cooking either. Regardless I'm happy being boring!!
I see from your other post you see what we were referring to earlier?? Such a shame, and well put btw xx

Diamond...spock and Stu are not seeing eye to eye and it is causing some distraction on here...Stu would like to sort it out I believe but he is going to lay low for a few days so the dust settles a bit. Hope you are ok, I've been watching Spies of Warsaw...brill!xxxx

I see that both Bearman and Sam have deserted us too. Maybe they are tired of the silliness that,s been going on. I have my own opinion on the whole matter but have decided for once to keep it to myself. I,m not in the game to upset or hurt people but I,m afraid I would so I,m keeping it shut for now. Love you all, missing Sam and Bear xxxxx

I think you are a wise old owl...much nicer than me Diamond. I think it is a shame that they have not posted. I like to think it's because they are busy and maybe Bearman is away...he often is darting around the world!
I hope I have not upset you by speaking was never my intention..xx
