Yep! it's the law or you'll be known as "Scrooge".....we could find a corner some where and be grim?

How about if I'm jolly on a part-time basis...?

Hi Ori, yes, and I was pleasantly surprised. They have virtually no smell at all! Texture is certainly not the greatest, but mixed all up with crispy vegetables in a stir fry, they were fine. I just need to track down a decent price.

Hi, I know it's down to personal taste but I tried these from Ideal World and was rather disappointed - thought they were rather expensive and their hype about 'enough for two ... ' was questionable, to say the least.

Hi Bz...I fancied them but read the reviews and to be honest I would rather have a smaller amount of the real thing. Some reviewers say they have a horrid texture and smell!

Hi by the way...hope you well?x

Those amazon ones are the ones I bought - far too pricey, but OK as a one off purchase to see if we liked them. Do you know I have never used any of the shopping channels.

I think the smell has to do with maybe how long they've been hanging around in stock.

The texture is very like "glass noodles" cooked in water, or Phillipine "panset" noodles. An acquired taste, but they cook so fast! I bought some in flat "eggnoodle" shape, don't know if I will like them but it's worth a try at 2 Euros for about 500g.
If you ever come here on holiday, track down an Oriental supermarket and stock up! Our local HiperOriente here in Sevilla seems to serve the major part of S. Spain, they get people from all over the region. (Avenida Kansas City 1-3, if that's any help).

I do all the time Bearman...I've had some great bargains..QVC customer service is UK based.

They have a 30 day money back policy...no questions asked...they even take opened, used skincare products and pierced earrings....I have never had a problem with anything.....

We have an oriental supermarket in Oxford, about 12 miles away. I will eventually make the trip, its just that Oxford is such a pain to get into. You have to use the out of town park and rides, change buses and fight the crowds. It always puts me off!

So that means you won't be round for tea anytime soon? Sniff...sniff...no, don't worry, I'm OK...

I wouldn't say that - I have an outstanding invitation to go and spend some time with my sister in Aracena which I will have to take up sometime, or she will stop talking to me. Though it probably won't happen this year.

Biccys dont rock my boat. But if Ori told me she had local Jamon iberico, Manchega and Membrillo in the cupboard, I'll be on the next flight out.

Bz says:
Hiya, pixie ( et al ) : Fine thanks. Last week I hit an all-time low, ie low as my weight back in my College days. However, I am now on my hold ( in North Herefordshire ) and as there are so many superb eateries, my 5:2 Diet has been put on hold. Quickly realised I could only manage small portions but having to restrict myself to lunch out, then a light snack in the evening ... It's no hardship but the scales will show the real story next week, I'm sure. If you enjoy food - take a road atlas and draw an area of about 15 mile radius around Ludlow/Leominster and you'll be amazed at the vast number of delightful places offering superb dishes. A carnivore by calling, I admit, but in one small tea-room, I was persuaded to have the vegetable lasagne - 15 minutes later I could only describe it as the best plate of food presented to me in years !! Apparently, 2 young chefs have moved into the area and are supplying the catering at two establishments in the area and are taking the place by storm.
The real reason for all of the gourmet delights of this region is the knock-on effect of the Ludlow Food Festival - everybody is raising their game. The only problem is the VAT levy of 20% and some establishments are struggling.

pixie says:
Wow! I envy you eating your way round Ludlow...more stars there than, anywhere aren't there? Wish it was the same here but sadly it's not very adventurous!

The thing is once you tone down the portions it is quite hard to over eat...more like the danger ofpicking the wrong dish!
Since cutting back I do find rich food difficult, haven't had acid probs since I started to watch what I'm eating.
Nice to hear from you Bz.....tell us what you munch over the next week...lovely!x

Well, that's it. Christmas & New Year over. No more excuses, time to get on the scales and find out the damage. H put on two kilos, but that's since October, not too bad. I've put on the same, so we'll have to settle back into sensible eating one more.

The Feast was served - and you ate of it - oh my goodness
It seems that NOW comes the reckoning - never mind though
It was enjoyable and well worth the effort

It,s a funny thing, I,ve stopped eating too much, sounds daft I know but I really didn,t pig out over Christmas at all, didn,t feel the need. I think it,s because I allow myself to have anything I want so I never feel the need to overindulge, it,s quite a nice feeling. That,s the good bit because as my very overweight, weight is stable and has been for several years all I need. To do now is learn to eat a bit less and lose a few pounds. That seems to be the part I cannot get to grips with lol.xxxx
