I am seeking a new or good second hand floppy disk drive as described above. Can anyone help?

I have an external SmartDisk FDUSB - TMM / Mitsumi D353FUE lying around here in London, having re-found it during a tidy up a few days ago. I also have some new disks. I don't know if it reads your sizes or writes. I can test it if it suits, and you are still looking after a month. Regards, Tony.

Hi, Thanks for your response. It seems that the kind of disk drive I am seeking has not been made or supplied for some twenty years. This kind of drive was a common component of PCs up until about the 1990's.

The drive reads and writes to 5.25 inch floppy disks and can write to 360Kb disks or 1.2Mb disks.

I am unfamiliar with the drive you mention in your email but I would really appreciate it should you be able to check it out.

I hope to hear from you soon

Regards

Bill Gates (I am the original one NOT the rich one)

PS Please let me know the price for which you would sell the drive

If you are still looking I can locate and supply you with a clean working 5.25", 1.2 M Teac FDD in a Black or White colour for £30.00 + delivery in the UK only.
Regards, Frank Carr.

Hi,
Thanks for your response.

If you can work out the cost of postage (air preferably) and add it to the cost of the drive I would be most happy to send you the money before your despatch of the drive.

I do hope you can help.

Failing that I will be in the UK in June 2014 and could arrange to collect the drive at that time.

Regards

Bill Gates
