I've spent ages trying to track down a copy of a bbc production of George Eliot's Adam Bede. Ian Glenn was Adam and Julia Mackenzie was in it. Amazon had a copy of it but only using the American system. Is there any way we can play these American system dvds here in the UK?

You need a multi region DVD player.

Ada says:
you need a multi region capable dvd player. you can then unlock it using a code. I bought the philips DVP5960 a few years ago, and got help unlocking it from one of the reviews on that page. The other option is to play us dvds on an x-box.

Thank you Ada, but I am inexperienced and couldn't follow yr instructions. But thanks anyway,
Annie

Hi Annie! Don't worry, I thought that when I first got my dvd player, but it's easy really. Do you have a dvd player already? If so what make and number is it? (For example my dvd player is a Philips DVP5960). Or are you looking to buy a new dvd player? The other thing you can use to play American NTSC dvds is the games console 'X-Box 360'. I'd love to be help to you as I know what it's like to find all this tech stuff a bit confusing.

Hi Ada, My query was "How do I get a DVD of the film RHAPSODY starring Elizabeth Taylor". Apparently Amazon does
not have it. Thanks for replying. I have a DVD Recorder, it's a Panasonic and I use it all the time.
Annie

Ada says:
Hi Annie, you can get a copy of that on amazon marketplace. If you just type in ' rhapsody taylor region 2 ' in the search bar you will find it. Both the sellers on the marketplace have good feedback, they are selling region 2 copies (which is UK and Europe) from £39.74, so maybe go for one of those. Or you can get a US copy (NTSC region 1) for cheaper, but that will only work if your panasonic dvd is multi-region player and/or is 'unlocked'.

Hi Ada,
£39.74 is a LOT more that I can pay for a DVD. So I shall forget it. Thanks anyway.
Annie

Hi Mary
Look on Google and log in to DVD Reviewer, then go to dvd Reviewer -Multi Region Hacks and follow the instructions. If your tv is on their list there will be a code to follow. Take your time, it is quite easy to do
Good luck

Robin says:
You do not need to pay £40.00 for a DVD of Rhapsody. The movie has now been released on DVD-R by Warner Archives. You can have this delivered to your home address for about £14.00. DVD-Rs are region -free so you will not need a multi-region DVD player.

What is the film? A B-grader about a young man who returns to the family aboard his father's tuna fishing boat (possibly set in Canada). Throughout the film the popular song "It Was A Very Good Year" was used extensively.

You can purchase a DVD player which includes the American system
Known as NTSC. I have a recorder made by Toshiba which plays both the British and American systems. You would find information for this on the Websites assuming you do have a computer Good luck

Art M. Daane says:
Tramp, tramp, tramp was issued on VHS, I have some bad quality clips of it.
An Australian firm was going to re-issue it but I have never heard from them again.
The region does not matter, I can change that if necessary.
As a 67 year oold I hope to get it one day befor I kick the bucket!!!
