Hello, I have bought 2 Nancy Drew books for my nearly 9 year old girl, to see if she would like them (The Hidden Staircase & The Secret of the Old Clock)- she did and now, she wants more Nancy Drew books, but I am a bit confused. They are so many. I grew up with Nancy Drew (translated in to French, she became Alice Roy) but I cannot remember all the books or that they were so many collections: the Nancy Drew Mysteries, Nancy Drew Girl Detective, Nancy Drew notes, Nancy Drew Dossier, Nancy Drew Files etc... I just want the original books, suitable for a nine year old girl. The ones I bought were very old hard back copies but still good. Can anyone tell me which ones I should get, please? I do not mind hard back or paperbacks, modern or old as long as they are from the original collection. Thank you very much.

I find the Fantasic Fiction website (fantasticfiction.co.uk) useful. If you type in "Nancy Drew" to search for book title, you will see that each book is listed with the series it is part of and the original publication date, so you can see which are the originals.

Oh thank you so much. Yes, this is a fantastic site. Someone mentioned it before in another forum but I thought it was only for fantasy books. That is it, my problem is solved, the books I want are the Mystery collection. Again, thank you from me and my daughter. That should keep her busy, there are about 76 books!

Hi, my 89 year old adores Nancy Drew Mystery series. I will look at that website too. What we have found is that the Nancy Drew Files are too old for her (in content) - more murder and romance etc. The original (Mystery) books are great for her - exciting but safe!
