Dear LEP
No it's not a wind up, he won't go near Reading if he can help it, not that he needs to as we live about 30 miles or more away, as for Windsor what? it is a Town with many amenities and it is closer to where we live and Ascot is near Windsor I think they make water boilers and heaters there but I am not sure, I'm sorry if you are offended if you live in Reading it could be worse you could live in Slough which is quite close to Reading I believe.

New childrens book Henry the Horse by author Eric Pullin makes for a lovley little story with full colour illustrations. It is written in simple verse style so there is not loads of words per page. There is not many Horsey stories out there, so may be something different to read.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with Reading! I've heard it broadens the mind. Now Redditch, that's another kettle of fish

Not anymore because Captain Colin Balaclava Wetherspoon has opened a Fish Kettle Emporium in Reading.

Hi my son whent through the same thing. about a year ago. I started making up stories about his favourite things and printing them out using pictures. also I would print letters on the computer at night and post them in our post box so when he got home from school he would have a letter to read with me from what ever he was into at the time i.e aliens or thomas the tank. also we played word snap. it really got him back interested. hope this helps

In reply to an earlier post on 26 Jun 2012 16:10:08 BDT
Yes this kind of helps, what did your son dislike about Reading, was it it's close proximity to Slough or the people or couldn't he put his finger on it really? Do you reside in Reading or maybe you have family there?

I think the Reading Festival with the massive strain it causes on the pot-noodles stocks in the shops may be the root cause.

PS Thanks for making me laugh.

bobbathejobba! - have you been sneaking into 'food' and 'cooking' for a giggle?!
You really don't want that kind of chaos on here, believe me!
We have to take it in turns to sit on him in there - just to stop him posting! ;o>

Dear Bobbathejobba
I have never heard of "The Pot-Noodles Stocks Festival" could you please enlighten me further? Would it be a festival appropriate for "Cranky Haddock & The Stalking Mega Moulds" to play? where is it held etc.

Alfie Jones and a change of fortune by David Fuller is the ideal book for a football mad reluctant reader. This chapter book is aimed at children 7-12 years and introduces Alfie and the mysterious madam Zola.

.....completely and utterly unbelievable!......I'm......just.....speechless.....!!!.....

Right okay?! - I can say anything I like? - about anything I want? - and nobody will read it!

So???.....if I say OMG!!! - HEY EVERYBODY!!! -
the World, as we know it, is going to come to an end in just 3 hours time.....!!!

Then, all I will get back is -

My child's love of Reading all came about the day we discovered the joys of Kipper the Dog by Mick Inkpen....!!!!!!!!!!!!
