My daughter is an immature 11 with reading age of 13. Her reading interest has finally taken off but I want to broaden her horizons. She has read and re-read every JW book and although she is a prolific writer, the books are not coming thick and fast enough for us.

Has anyone experience of what my daughter might move on to read?

Cathy Cassidy books are a similar style to J.W.

My daughter moved on to Hilary McKay, e.g. Saffy's Angel (Casson Family), Meg Cabot, e.g.The Princess Diaries and Jean Ure, e.g. Ice Lolly, (as well as Cathy Cassidy mentioned above).

L. M. Fraser says:
Chris Higgins is another great writer in that genre - or Dreamer Ballerina by Sarah Rubin, which isn't nearly as pink and frothy as either the title or the jacket would suggest.Dreamer Ballerina

Try also the Paeony Pinker books by Jenny Alexander, and Helen Bailey's Electra Brown series.

Try 'Coping with Chloe' by Rosalie Warren - like Jacqueline Wilson in the way it deals with issues with a lightish touch, plus humour and a touch of mystery.

Thanks for all those suggestions. Santa is bringing a Kindle - any suggestions for good value (cheap) Kindle books to fill up her empty collection?
