when i was younger, i listened every night to an audio book containing several fantasy stories (i don't remember them all). But the one i do remember, and that has stayed with me, was a story about a young boy playing alone in his garden, he blew a dandelion clock and all of a sudden it was night time, he became scared and lost but saw some lights in the distance that turned out to be trees, covered in rowntrees fruit pastels. can anyone at all remember this story and what it was called, i thought it was 'the dandelion clock' but i can find no mention of this any where and i really would like a copy of this for my future children. Thanks x

Hi, have you had any luck in finding out what this book was called, I have also been desperately trying to find it! I remember random bits, not sure if from another story on the tape or the same one but i recall a tunnel of some sort and elves or gnomes. So frustrating, i'd love for my kids to be able to listen to it too x

Was it called 'Thirteen O' Clock', by Enid Blyton.
It tells the story of a little boy called Sandy who blows at a marvellous dandelion clock - puff, puff, puff!
He counts the hours and reaches the magical faery hour of thirteen o'clock.
I think it is still around in book version and in audio tape, maybe on Amazon here. Probably in the O' Clock series.

Hi N. Green x
I wasn't sure if it was the one, but if it is, then I am really pleased to have been of some help!
I had a look on Google and found several places selling the books and audio tapes - and Amazon and ebay were listed too.
I think the other one was also by Enid Blyton and called - 'Jack Frost Is About'.
I do hope you will be able to buy exactly what you are looking for now! :o>

Thank you SuzySunshine. We have the Thirteen o'clock book at home. My children read it but not me so, I could not help.
By the way, if anyone is looking for Enid's books, I have fbought so many of them as good second hands hardbacks on ebay. for about £2.00 included postage. You just need to type Enid Blyton and many bookshops will appear.

Hi French!
Yes, I think I'll be buying a few Secret Seven's for my god-daughter. They were always my favourite!

Can't believe I've found this thread! I have been searching for this book for ages! I could remember key words and spent so much time googling. Anyway the audiobook you are looking for I have just found! It's called Santa's story by Rowntree Mackintosh! I remembered there being rowntrees sweets in it. The audio book contains 4 stories "the ice bubble", "the dandelion clock" "the giants pocket" and "the silver bell"
I found an eBay link to it but unfortunately it had ended and now I can't find it anywhere!

Hiyah Lyndsay!

I had completely forgotten that I was still tracking this thread until I came across your post in my Inbox. I just had a look on eBay and found the item you must have seen and also saw that it had been sold, but I had a little wander around anyway trying searches with different ways of describing it, as this can sometimes pull up items that have been listed by the seller in another way...and guess what? - I found you another one! - and it comes with a mini colouring book plus it is also brand new and still sealed too! And the seller has ten of them up for grabs at just 99p + 70p for p&p ;o>

Yes Lyndsay, this is definitely the one, I was a little disappointed when I didn't find the right one (although I do recommend thirteen o clock) and I'd resigned myself to never finding it. I loved these stories when I was young and want my daughter to hear them so much. You've made my day, thank you :-)

Hi, Just stumbled across this thread as I was copying a load of old audio cassettes from tape to mp3. Most were one's my mum wanted recovering of me and my sister talking as kids. Within the pile was this cassette I have just transferred the stories to PC as mp3 ("the ice bubble", "the dandelion clock" "the giants pocket" and "the silver bell"). They are only about 24MB for the lot. Don't mind emailing/uploading them if you guys are still after them.

I remembered listening to these stories as a kid they were great. I think our uncle had possible got us the tape (he used to work at rowntree's)
