I have recently obtained a sony dvd home theatre surround sound system (DAV-SR2) which i would like to connect to my samsung tv (UE37D5520) and blue ray player (BD-C5500) but the connectors on the dvd system obviously dont fit any of the connectors on the tv or blue ray.

I was wondering if there is any way/converters i could get hold of so that i can use these speakers on the new tv/blue ray without spending too much money?

I obviously want to carry on watching blue rays and normal sky tv but would like to have the surround sound speakers kicking out the sound rather than the tv speakers.

Thanks
Dan

I. Mcdonagh says:
Looking at the on-line instruction manual, the only audio connection is analogue phono. You can connect the audio out from the TV to the receiver and this will play all the sound from the TV through your external speakers. (this assumes that the TV has audio out terminals)

Many thanks for this.
Would this still work if i was to play a bluray as normal but have the surround sound system hooked up as above?
As the surround sound unit is also a dvd player i didnt know if this would work!?!
