True adventure travel biography and autobiography

I have always loved true life stories written by people who go on amazing journeys and adventures. They usually contain biographical or autobiographical elements interwoven with excitement, trepidation and discovery.
I recently read `Wild Summer' by Stephen Richards Wild Summer (illustrated) which is a fast moving and emotionally charged travel adventure book. I also recently reread 'Close to the Wind' written by Pete Goss Close to the Wind: An Extraordinary Story of Triumph Over Adversity who was awarded an MBE and the Legion of Honour for putting his own life in danger in order to save a life.
If you read travel adventure I would like to know which `not to miss' book you would suggest for me to read next.

Whatever is a 'chaotic hue'? Is it something like a melodic cumulostratus cloud or a pensive gold ingot?

Try 'The diary of a single parent abroad' by Jill Pennington. It will make you cry with both sadness and laughter, it's about a woman abandoned in Italy with 3 kids and no money. A great story.

This is an account of my time in Mubaraks Prison system in Egypt, between 2002 and 2006.
There are many stories that have been left untold, but what follows are the main events of my incarceration, as well as a few stories to give a glimpse of what prison life in Mubarak's Egypt was like. In a few places I have changed names of people, as it may not be desirable or even safe for their true identity to be known.
Most of this text was written immediately after I returned to the UK, although a few additions were made more recently. As I type this introduction, I have just heard reports that Hosni Mubarak is critically unwell, after spending some time in the very prison that I was in. I had also heard that his two sons and much of his government were actually incarcerated in the same cells that I used to frequent, during my stay in Mazra'a Tora prison near Cairo.
