Why not? Because the author is promoting it. Never a good sign. And there's no equivalent paperback.

Statistics prove (don't they always) there is a 99.9% chance it's crap. Apologies if it's not, but at £5.94 I won't be taking that gamble.

Absolutely right. It's almost certainly a steaming pile of a substance I cannot name, for fear of being again subjected once again to the irrational whim of the nanny who moderates these forums.

Calling a trud a trud is of course not allowed. On the other hand, so-called "authors" who choose to ignore Amazon's perfectly simple instruction not to advertise their truds may do so with impunity.

Not to worry: if he keeps it up, review his book. If enough of us do it, he'll wish he'd never bothered.

Crime Thriller 'Cold Remains' - Author Sally Spedding. This book is a real page-turner. I just could not put it down until I turned over the last page. Welsh history of Lead Mines and the Welsh Valleys are captured in this riveting read and the fragility of the human race is evidenced. It is so dark it is like going into a black hole and we tend to ask ourselves - did we come out of it whole? Excellent.Cold Remains

I think that it is correct for people to be a little suspicious of authors advertising their own work, after all, they could be taken for a ride. However that's what the preview is for, so you can see what you are buying. I'm an author, and I have a book here too. It's a biography, a true story. Go and preview it, the first couple of pages, if you don't like it, leave it, but if you do, Buy it, it's only £1.84 (GBP) it's called Forgotten By God. See what YOU think.

It isn't just a question of being suspicious of self-promotion. It is actually against Amazon rules to do so on these forums, except within the specifically designated "Meet Our Authors" section.

I stand corrected.
