Mark WIlson says:
I've just completed my debut novel "Bobby's boy", which deals in a, hopefully real-world way with mental illness. I suffered from depression for 25 years (from the age of 10) and hate the way that depression is portrayed in the media. I wanted to show how "normal" a part of life mental illnees, unfortunately, can be. The novel will be available on Amazon from easter. You can find the page for it on facebook, or read my bio on www.paddysdaddy.com. I'll be doing some free promotions on launch.

Eileen Shaw says:
Hi J. Kovler - to be fair to the film One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, it is obvious that the Nicholson character is not really mentally ill. When he has ECT treatment its because of his inability to abide by the restrictions of the hospital norms. The horror story of his ECT would therefore seem outside the scope of proper or improper treatment.

S. Mendis says:
The work I would recommend is not a novel, but a great short story called 'The Yellow Wallpaper' by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. It's a journal-like account of this woman who has some nervous trouble, so she's in this quaint house in the country (for a rest cure). The ending has a powerful, even disturbing twist!
