Don't forget to add "you should go out more". The two most popular phrases used by every "something" in every forum. A clear sign of unparalleled originality

I know, sometimes I amaze myself. I have been reminded of a poem by Emily Dickinson that starts 'I'm Nobody, who are you Are you nobody too?' first two lines of second verse are quite amusing 'How dreary to be somebody How public, like a frog.' I won't have got the punctuation right, she used lots of dashes.

Now I'm compelled to say "spot-on"... :)

Anita, I started that last post then got distracted by the cat demanding food. Trouble is they think they are being original, like when they use 'forum police'.

We crossed over again. I am a big fan of her poetry, says a lot in very few words.

Isn't that interesting that she was definitely the one who could be advised to "go out more" and "get a life"? Good she didn't

Good for you. I have met a lot of best selling authors and not one of them would speak to potential readers in the way that you have. When I say best selling authors I mean people like Louis de Bernieres, Lisa Jewell and Marina Lewycka. We join in these discussions for fun, we like talking about books and spreading the word about favourite reads. We do not like spam and self important people who come out with phrases like 'I am a best selling author'. Try the MOA, although with your attitude I think you will upset quite a few of the regulars.

And be quick to make copies of my posts for your court case, as I'm going to delete them as totally irrelevant to the thread. Happy best-selling. As you are not giving your name, I have to take your word for it. Or not

Surely you are also a well-paid lawyer, aren't you. I said: "No information of such an author in literary pages, and on Amazon (if that's the same Judith Connett), she's best-sellinging somewhere below 500,000." Check a Judith Connett on Amazon, if that's not you, and you'll see the ratings, exactly as I said. Also I said, repeat "(if that's the same Judith Connett)". That's surely deflamation. Now sue me

Anita, I was just using my nobody brain and a thought struck me. When someone uses the phrase 'you should get out more' the individual at the receiving end could be agoraphobic, 'get a life' could be aimed at someone who has a terminal disease. Suddenly these 'clever' quips would take on a whole different meaning. You are right, best-selling is no indication of quality, some of my favourite authors never get anywhere near the top 20, but I love them anyway! As to the grammar 'your' instead of 'you're' is a case in point.

However, the word 'troll' springs to mind.

I Readalot - nobody's is another. And if she's not giving her name, there's no proof of her being best-selling, or an author at all. Seems I shall be sued by a ghost
