I am trying to remember a BBC drama which featured two brothers, one of whom was disabled. This brother fight for his independence but dies in an accident. The surviving brother then demands that an orchestra plays a piece of music which holds one note for a really long time. The music just hangs in the air. I loved the drama and want to know what the music was. Does anyone have any ideas?

Many thanks

I think Ian Dury may have been in this, and the title was something like Skallagrigg; the storyline also seems similar to Roger Waters' 'Radio KAOS' album!

The series I was thinking of was called 'A Thing Called Love' and starred Paul Nicholls. It aired in 2004. The music is mahler's 9th. Thanks for the reply though. I will check out the things you mentioned.
