Is Mongrels Series 2 actually going to be released on DVD? I'm getting just about fed up of pre-ordering BBC DVDs only for them to be cancelled. They cancelled the DVDs of Harry Enfield's 1990s TV series and there's still no sign of "Have I Got News For You 2010" despite the fact it's now 2012.

I hope so. I found out yesterday that the show has been cancelled, no series 3 =/ So a dvd is questionable.

I bet that rubbish with David Jason they turned out recently gets a DVD release though. The BBC haven't a clue about comedy anymore.

I could have put money on it! Just to add insult to injury the BBC have instantly announced a DVD release for The Royal Bodyguard. It must say something for the state of British comedy when such a great actor like David Jason is forced to resort to starring in such total rubbish. The BBC are truly a waste of space.

The BBC are a waste of space because BBC Worldwide, a private company interested in profit, are releasing a programme that you don't like, but others might? Now that BBC TV have cancelled, as suggested above, they might also cancel the DVD release. But let's not let facts get in the way of your kneejerk reactions ;)

I do hope series 2 is released soon!

The Royal Bodyguard was a failure. Even David Jason more or less admitted that. A waste of a talented actor. I really hope he finds a better role soon because I think it would be terrible for a man who is one of our national treasures to end his career on such a low note. I am not suggesting that Royal Bodyguard shouldn't be released. But why not Mongrels Series 2 as well? Some to think of it, why not Casualty Series 4 onwards, Spike Milligan's Q and a lot of other things a lot of people want released.

Maybe if Mongrels had been broadcast at a sensible time it might have got higher ratings. The fact is the BBC is not interested in shows that take time and cost money to make (hence endless 'reality' shows). Their so-called 'flagship' Eastenders has underpaid actors and employs cheap script-writers with no idea about the real working classes. The BBC are no different from the bankers. They're a private company who seem to think the public should be made to fund their selfish empire-building.

Keiham says:
Actually the BBC is a public company who are funded by a budget given by the Government and got a bunch of idiots known as the BBC Trust dictating where the money is spent.

But that's enough of the ranting. According to hmv, zavvi and sinsbury web sites, Mongrels Series 2 DVD is released in October
