By far the best, and the best value. Buy a foscam camera £50 on amazon. If you have a smartphone , laptop, or ideally an iPad or similar. Once setup you use the iPad or android mobile phone to view ,listen, and or talk. You can control the camera as well and move it around. It's got night vision too. We have used it since our baby boys birth to keep an eye on him.

You can also record the video,or email snapshots, or set it up to email you when there is movement. The video is accessible anywhere you have an Internet connection. So with wireless in the house you are sorted. We take it with us when visiting grandparents too.

You just need to plug it into a normal wall socket, as the device is wireless. I bought the app for the ipad . Live cam pro. For my mobile phone (Samsung galaxy s2) the app was called "tiny cam monitor pro" which my wife and I both prefer, but the iPad is bigger screen so it's handy to use for viewing. The image is perfect to check on breathing and listen in. I've seen loads of camera options but if you have the smartphhone or iPad already this works out very cheap. Yet means you can have lots of options for keeping an eye on baby.

I have the motorola mp36 i think. Got from Mothercare as cheapest at time, first one broke and had shocking customer service, but replacement been fab. Zoom, tilt etc of camera, picture quality excellent. Battery life could be better, needs to be kept plugged in over night when on, approx a 3hr charge when not plugged in. Good luck with your choice.

I have the Angelcare AC1100. It is very good and you can set it to alert you to temperature fluctuation and also has the under mattress movement sensor pad. The picture is clear, with a zoom function. It's not the cheapest model you can buy, but I have found it gives me peace of mind which is priceless.

The Tommee Tippee Sensor Pad Monitor is fab! I used it for my little one with no problems. It is expensive though but they do offer a cheaper one without the sensor pad which is still really good. Both are on here i think.

I've been playing around with a UCam247i - which is an ip camera really but the main difference is that it comes with a free iOS and Android app that converts it into a baby monitor so you don't need a separate monitor as you can view your baby directly from an iphone, ipad etc.

I've got the Motorola mbp20 I think they are, they are really good night vision is great full colour in the light and it also tells you the temperature in the room with warning if it gets to hot or cold, talk back feature to talk to baby. I got mine in boots for £70 and got all the points put on my parent boots card think it was double points got £15 worth of points anyway

Have to agree with this one here, the peace of mind is priceless. I too have this model and it is amazing, works in our house which is two story and has loads of walls and doors, never lose signal. I love it!

We have the Tomy video monitor - it is fantastic, really large screen with very good quality picture. My wife particularly likes the nightlight on it, because you can customise the colour of the nightlight to match the nursery! There's loads of other gadgets on it too, some a bit gimmicky but others that are really useful like the temperature guage. Would definitely recommend this one.

We have the Summer Infant Baby Touch Digital Video Monitor and I have to say that it is fantastic. It's colour, has night vision, temperature alert, talk back function and you can move the video camera in baby's room via the handheld parent unit so you don't have to go into baby's room and move the camera around if for some reason it ends up not on baby. We also have the BT Digital Video 1000 Baby monitor which is also great but you have to move the baby unit by hand which can be a slight pain but the BT monitor has built in lullabyes on it if thats what you're looking for. Anyway hope this helps.
