I am visually impaired will kindle read text or in other words act as an audio book

I have the older kindle, bought in the winter of last year (2011), the one with the keyboard buttons... and it does read out the text. You can disable this audio function, also adjust the volume. I find it useful sometimes but it is not the same as a proper audio book as the voice is 'robotic' sounding. I hope my review has helped you, G D Foreman.

Thank you this is very helpfull as some one who is blind audio books are an important part of my life.
