UK distributors Cine Asia have bought the rights to re-release Hong Kong Legends DVDs and the first batch of these releases is coming in July and August including Dragons forever, the prodigal son, police story, heart of the Dragon and many more. Great news for those of us who missed the opportunity to get them first time round!

I'm hoping that Dreadnaught and The Odd Couple get released in one of the next batches. ...Knockabout too!

I wonder if Cine-Asia releases any of the Title's on Blu-ray, because I would be over the moon if Dragons Forever, the Police Story's, The Odd Couple, & Knockabout were on that format. If not I would be very happy with them on dvd as they are fab movies.

If i remember correctly Fong Sai Yuk 2 should be available later this year. Police Story 3 i'm not sure about, I know it's available as a Region 1 export, but of very poor quality. I would like to see a release of Armor Of God 2, not as good as Armor Of God but my Jackie Chan collection is missing it.

Are they getting the same extras? I got a load of these, but there are still a few I need, including Wheels On Meals, so looking forward to the fact that they are being re-released

There's this version available in the UK: http://tinyurl.com/5ra7bq8

But it's dubbed so you may have to import if you want a subbed version.

Jay, are you talking about the Dragon Dynasty release of Police Story 3 or the previous Dimension DVD? The Dimension one was absolutely atrocious. Awful picture and sound quality with a dreadful English dub. The dragon dynasty release is so much better in every respect and a joy to watch. I believe there's a few cuts but overall it doesn't affect my viewing pleasure. In any case the film really needs to be released in the UK.

Armour of God 2 has been released in UK as Operation Condor. Unfortunately it's a fairly poor release with English dub only.

One thing I'd like to see Cine Asia do is when it releases new titles to also include an English dub. I know so many people who would never watch these films without them and are missing a potential market and opening doors to more Asian cinema.

LA Prince, good call there with Pedicab Driver!

I was referring to the previous Dimension DVD, I wasn't aware that dragon dynasty had released Armour Of God 2, I'll have to look that up

Very happy to hear about this. I am wondering about audio commentaries. Bey Logan's were very informative and quite interesting on the HKL series.

Armour of God 2/Operation Condor wasn't released by a dragon dynasty to the best of my knowledge, only Dimension DVD.

Another one I hope get re released is Hapkido .

DeeJay says:
@lichinbo. CineAsia releases are often just repackaged Dragon Dynasty releases, so they only release films on Bluray if its already been done by another company.

@Valen Police Story 3 did get a uk release as Supercop and I think it was dub only.

Posted on 18 Jun 2011 22:57:38 BDT
DeeJay, I think you might be getting mixed up with the Michelle Yeoh sequel released in the UK as Supercop as an English dub only release which is not Police Story 3 Supercop. It was also released in the UK in the original language as Project S.

I'd love Warriors 2 aswell as Wheels on Meals, Chinese Ghost Story 1-3, & She Shoots Straight looks like it could be good.
