Oh and no release date schedule, but they are making a Black Panther movie, I would imagine they'll want this out before Avengers 3 so they can use him in it as Black Panther was always in the avengers in both Comics and Cartoons.

P.S Its hilarious that my posts are being marked down as not adding to the discussion I created to post articles about upcoming super heroes.

Clearly this perosn either thinks it will be fun to do so, or has some sort of mental issue whereas they read the posts and the thread, but just dont like either.

anyway carry on all you want idiot.

A little OT but no where else to discuss.

From Latino

Remember back in the spring during the upfronts when the news broke that Steven Spielberg would be producing a live-action series based on the Halo game universe?
The series, which will be available on Xbox Live, will be produced in conjunction with the Halo's developer 343 Industries. During the Xbox One announcement in Redmond, Washington, Microsoft's president of entertainment and digital media Nancy Tellem said the following:
"TV on the Xbox One will immerse you, allowing you to virtually jump into the action. It's truly personalized. It will provide recommendations with amazing precision. It's truly social. Xbox is about to become the next water cooler. And this is only Act One."
Spielberg added the following:
"The Halo universe is an amazing opportunity to be at an intersection where technology and myth-making converge."
You know who is directing the Halo pilot?
According to trusted sources, I'm hearing none other than NEIL BLOMKAMP!

For those of you who have been living under a rock the last few years, back in 2007, Blomkamp directed a trilogy of live-action short films set in the Halo universe, to promote the release of Halo 3. Blomkamp was then slated to direct his first feature-length film, an adaptation of the Halo series of video games, produced by Peter Jackson. The Halo movie then completely imploded and Blomkamp went on to make a hot little movie set in South Africa that became a worldwide smash hit called District 9.
At first when I heard the news I was a little confused given the history between Blomkamp and Halo. Then again, with Spielberg on board as producer, Microsoft now in complete control of their IP, & Blomkamp now a major player, it seems doable.

Well I'm excited about the Halo series, as a reader of all the books I love the story and the setting and I hope this can be Game of Thrones quality.

Especially with Blomkamp

I can't say I'm surprised by this, he obviously loves video games and halo in particularly (you can see it's influence in both his previous films). The thing that I hope for the most is that they get a good writer on board. Elysium was a bit of a mess imo in terms of story.

The only thing that really bugs me is that I hate the idea of a games console (saying media hub makes me want to wretch) using tv programs as its selling point and advertising draw. No idea how much a pilot would cost, how much getting Blomkamp on board etc etc. How about using that money AND MAKING SOME GAMES!!!!!!! I suspect if this takes off (like they say this is act one) we can expect MS to push out into the media more. I can see them wanting to use the XBO and probably some subscription Windows app to stream a HBO like channel.
I love the Halo games, it's why I've kept hold of my 360 even though I more or less play exclusively on my PS3/4 these days. And while I admit I've not read any of the books or explored the Universe outside of the games, I have to say IMO the series felt as if it's slipped a little since Bungie left. And a few of my mates have felt the same. The shin slightly tarnished I wonder if they're too late to be launching a tv series.

EDIT: Yeah I just read that last bit back, of course it's not too late, it's HALO. I still stand by the rest though.

Well story wise, they don't need to do much, the books just need to be filmed, because the story is excellent.

WRT games, well Halo 5 is coming this year anyway, so this is completely independent of the games. And is years and years beyond where the TV series would start (Id Imagine they start at first contact with Covenant and the creation of the Spartan II's)

WRT to the Games quality, I'm not sure I agree, 343 have only done 1 game which was Halo 4. The story in Halo 4 had to go down a new route as the covenant war was ended in Halo 3. so they have actually written a decent backstory of what's going on and going to happen WRT the Forerunners, who I think will come back and possibly even the precursors which are essentially the Flood, this particular story in Halo 4 was a direct sequel to the Forerunner books about the Final war and the fall of the forerunners. The Didact was a good enemy, the issue was the relied ton someone having possibly read the books I thought, you needed to get all the Terminal to find out what was going on.

So I understand that criticism.

However gameplay wise I feel Halo 4 was every bit as good as the others though they need to concentrate more on the story elements IMO. Also the MP was by far the most slick and well designed MP I have seen on any game on any console. LAG free (Mostly) fair and competitive and responsive.

If they go down the route that I think they will then Halo 5 will open up the story and also link both trilogies together very well for those that don't read the books.

Either way a TV series will focus on the older elements of the story prior to Halo 1, Id imagine rather than start and have to show loads of backstory.

The books will be the real guide for the series as appose to the games.

Oh one thing sadly lacking in Halo4, was the classic Halo music, that needs to come back IMO and also be used in the series, its awesome.

Just saw this myself.

***SPOILERS***

Interesting to see Rogue was on there after rumours her scenes were cut from the final edit. Didn't like Bishop's eyes, they look odd and Bishop should be much bulkier than that. Quicksilver looks awfffuulllll! Dinklage's moustache should get a role of it's own.

In reply to an earlier post on 28 Jan 2014 17:06:47 GMT
Yeah quicksilver does look pants to be fair

From the trailer and now these pictures, I really not getting a good vibe for this film.
I absolutely love the story arc that this is based on and I'm just not seeing any resemblance in what they have shown so far. And the fact that it not kitty as the main character just shows Singers respect for the story in my eyes.
Just another Wolverine show again then.
Quicksilver is laughable, cannot wait for Joss to show Singer how it's done in Avengers AoU

You have to accept that the comics and films will always be seperate entities. The Golden age of Marvels comics were aimed at 7-12 year olds who's inagination brought these heros to life and didn't question any inconsistencies/plot holes. They just accepted the wonder of it all'
The movies on the other hand are aimed at adults who seem to want every nuance/plot device/character motivation explained. Every film to dove tail into the next. Every character to be just like the comic!!
Yes the movie Quicksilver looks like some rebellious, street smart, annoying teen type (hope to God he's not) and I wonder how much of it is Singers vision or studio interference to create a character "they" think will go down well with the teen audience.

More Man Of Steel casting news.

Jesse Eisenberg has been cast as Lex Luthor and Jeremy Irons as Alfred.

Not sure what to make of either of those TBH. Initial thought is 'terrible' but then when I think about it more it could work.

Posted on 3 Feb 2014 10:41:19 GMT
Ben J says:
Jeremy Irons as Alfred is a pretty damn good bit of casting TBH, but I cannot be make up my mind about the casting of JE as Lex.
Apart from Zombieland everything I've seen him I find he really annoying and never believe the character he's portraying. Plus he looks too young for the role.

Has anybody caught the new CA: The Winter Soldier trailer that was released yesterday yet???? Its looking like the best Marvel film yet.
And whilst on the subject of CA:TWS, Marvel have began discussions with the Russo Bros to helm the third CA too. The end of March cannot come quick enough.

The New Spidey trailer is pretty good too.

In reply to an earlier post on 3 Feb 2014 12:25:17 GMT
I like Irons, but Jesse will have to wait and see, could be another Ledger, could be another spacey.

In reply to an earlier post on 3 Feb 2014 12:26:29 GMT
Yep new Cap film looks all kinds of awesome and from those early reviewers that have seen it, the rumour is its the best standalone Marvel movie since Iron Man.

Watched Now You See Me at the weekend and just couldn't see Jesse playing Lex and being any sort of threat to the Big Blue.

Ed Brubaker (writer of the story arc that the film is based on) has said the screen play that he has read and what he has seen BTS its absolutely brilliant and will blow people away.

More news

Rumors have been everywhere that The Vision was going to appear in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON. Early on, before James Spader was cast as Ultron, there were rumors that Ultron would be Paul Bettany - a corrupted JARVIS turned on its creator - but that's not the direction Joss Whedon is going, apparently, and judging by today's casting announcement, confirmed in Variety - Paul Bettany will be donning the green and yellow and playing The Vision.

But is he playing him or simply supplying a voice? I hope the former. Bettany's a fine actor and deserves his dues after playing JARVIS in AVENGERS and the IRON MAN films. He certainly would bring class and grace to the character. With the Scarlet Witch supposedly appearing in AVENGERS: AOU as well, there's a distinct possibility that comic-book romance may play out in the films. I just wish the surprise had been saved for later, but that's the way casting news works these days.

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON starts production soon. I have no doubt it's going to be a kickass shoot. So far, everything seems to be developing very well.

That's from AICN

From Latino there is some plot speculation about bats vs supes. It's hardly worth posting st this point but head over there if you want unsubstantiated rumours.

And potential spoilers so don't blame me if you read on.

.
.
Gwen Stacy will unsurprisingly not survive the climax of spider man 2. This was always going to happen.

Also Alistair Smythe is in it as is the technology that leads to Doc Ock.

aghh you beat me to it :)

Apparently both Bettany and Jeremy Remmer were spotted at Shepperton studios meeting Whedon. They were both involved in make up and costume tests, Bettany having some sort of pale make up applied.
Cannot wait to see how this plays out and with the latest news of a possible appearance of Carol Danvers too AOU looks like its going to be a belter.

Also it's already been mentioned that Captain America: TWS will be a direct link to Avengers: AOU and thanks to a recent early viewing it has been said the post credit scene for Winter Soldier has been seen and can confirm the introduction of "the twins", the viewer has also said that they feel really sorry for Fox and Singer regarding Quicksliver too.

Posted on 7 Feb 2014 10:33:37 GMT
Oh and Ms Marvel aka carol Danvers is apparently getting cast for Avengers 2. Though whether she'll be just Carol Danvers or actually Ms Marvel remains to be seen.

That's a lot of avengers.

Scarlet witch
Quicksilver
Vision
Ms Marvel
And the cast from Avengers 1. Is it poss that done of them won't be reprising their roles in AOU?
We know RDJ and Chris Evans are in. We know Johansson is in. We don't know if hemsworth is back but we'd assume so seen as he is on Earth.

Hulks gotta be back?

Yeah Ruffalo has read the script and has said that Banner is now in a very complex relationship and that the film is bigger, darker all round better than the first.

Forgot about that. Not heard any comments from Hemsworth. Is it possible no Thor?

I doubt it. Wonder if Hawkeye might miss out?

Hawkeye is in too, he's going to be pretty involved apparently (should make up for the first film).
I did read an interview with Hemsworth for Rush and he did say that he's gearing up to get back in the gym for AOU.
Cannot have Thor not appear he's my favourite Avenger :)

Read Latinos "news" yesterday, but everything that I tend to read from that particular person is usually a load of old tosh. Like I said on another site only believe BvsS news is if I hear it a press release from WB/DC themselves.

Also there was news on Evangeline Lilly being offered the lead female role in the upcoming Antman film as Pyms daughter and Scott Langs love interest.
Not bad if you ask me (could see her as Wasp if that's the route their going for)

In reply to an earlier post on 7 Feb 2014 11:59:53 GMT
Yeah forgot to post about lily, she'd be great as Janet VD aka Wasp. Bit with this bring a Scott Lang movie and the rumours about her being Pyms daughter I'm not sure where they are going with that.

I'll watch Evangeline in anything?

The shower
The toilet
The bath
